Angel, here are photos of my notes for El Presidente. Can't believe I found them! I guess they were important enough.

Jess/Angel what size should a piece of material be for a 1:6 bandana? Should it be a square or more rectangle?

I would play with the shape...you will find that with this scale, it wouldn't be a perfect rectangle or square...you would need a stretched out rectangle, possibly a weird looking rectangle (imagine it being stretched out where it will be knotted) so that you can create a knot if you were to tie it on your figure.

Your sketches look right Jessica! That's exactly what I've got too for the glyphs. What did you think was wrong with them?

Keep those shots coming, Sticks!

Every time I see comparison shots of Sideshow and Hot Toys gorillas I'm still stunned over the jump in quality between the two. :horror:horror:horror

Now you need to fill your amazing sets with Hot Toys monkeys!!! :banana:banana:banana

Any shots of the HT Gorillas driving Angel's wagon forthcomig? :naughty

I thought it was wrong because the mirror image of the bottom-most hieroglyph is off--which is why I have crossed it out.

I'm not sure about the hieroglyphs on the back of his jacket, though...and this is my best guess of what's back there. I am assuming, based on the mirroring of the front patterns the same would hold true for the back:

OK. Let's get serious, now...

dsc01747q.jpg

I removed the top teeth altogether, because I tried to cut off the bottom of it and it still looked bucky...so he became toothless...and I reshaped some sculpey clay on the bottom jaw, where the teeth should have been to begin with. This will still need curing and then painting, and then touching up around the lip area...but he looks loads better!!

This has some seriously good potential. Are you going to give him both upper and lower teeth?

I tried both--not enough space, and he starts to look goofy, but I will play with it some more. I even put larger incisors on the bottom...looked kinda neat, but I smoothed them down for the photo...perhaps I should make the lower teeth smaller to give me more space for the upper teeth...

The back is just like the front, except in the center of his back he has a symbol like the chimps. Not the "ellias" symbol, but the upside down "U" symbol.

I agree, Angel... The dental care vastly improved the look of this figure.

I just don't like the look of the hair underneath the face.

On top of that... I still don't like the hair.

Everything else on this figure and what comes with this figure is spectacular

You mean...like the little semi-circle above the chimp hieroglyph...or like the ones found above and below the hieros on Dr. Maximus?

A = Note the triangular type bottom piece of the typical Dr. Zaius coat. This is even on the coat of our SS Dr. Zaius.

B = Upside down "U" like the chimps glyph and a few other small lines on this glyph.

There's enough room Jessica. If it where me, I'd just show the caps of his teeth. That way you can actually see the uppers and the lowers of his teeth. Subtle, not some big toothy gorilla. I don't think you need to show the entire tooth. Play with it and just do what you think is right.

I'll play with the Captain's teeth some more. I just happened to have the exacto knife handy while waiting for the computer to boot up...and I went at it this morning...I was going to make a cast of his face first, but then I thought why? I HATE his teeth...why do I need to save a copy of it?

This is exciting to hear Ironman. I'm really glad you're getting so involved with everything. Keep it going! :angelsmil

KFog - Where are you?

Hi Angel! Since I have been working graveyard shift, I have not really felt well and I am having a hard time adjusting to certain sleep patterns during the day.:sick

On a different note, I have received Jess' Taylor blanket and it looks fantastic. Jess, I will get your items out no later than monday. Thanks alot, Kent.:peace

Glad you liked it, Kfog. Take your time...I'm really not in a rush...

Hope you feel better soon. Graveyard shift is hard...

I'm going to have something done this weekend regarding his shoulder glyphs. Maybe it's not a chimp glyph. Now I'm thinking it's just an upside down "U" symbol. Heck it's on his back, I'm just going to use my imagination.

I know. I know JJ. He does photgraph well in Stickmans photos though huh? I think Jessica will improve both his teeth and hair and help to sell me on the idea of getting one... someday. Maybe.

This is fantastic, Angel! I never did get a clear idea of the back!!

Jess - The picture is far from CLEAR, but it does give a CLEAR idea as to how it should be.

KFog - You never said - I hope you received your order with the armbands long ago.

is it possible to just seal the mouth shut after the teeth have been removed?

i received my Captain via UPS today and really dig him... may bulk him up, but really don't mind the teeth (the sculpt will be very distinguishable from the many more Hot Toy gorilla faces hopefully on the way).
