Thanks for posting those pics, IM. I would have had to upload them to Imageshack and copy the links over. Angel, he said it was OK to post the photos.

The other weird thing is--are you guys part of the POTA Yahoo group? Drew Gaska posted photos of Snick's Icarus on his website before Snick sent these images to me. IM, do you remember seeing them on the yahoo group? They look different from what you just posted, if I remember correctly. Maybe Snick said it was ok for Drew to post...but I didn't share those here because I was not sure of Snick's preference.

These ones that I just put up are the only group (there were 4 more, but these depict the best of what is done) that Snicks said to go ahead and share. The rest of what he's got done is nothing short of incredible and will blow your minds when you see it.

I understand that Jessica- Snickertown sent me a lot of his pictures also. I didn't want to post any of his pictures. I just figured he'd post them here if he really wanted everyone to see them.

Great pictures Snick! :)

Guys, I have not had the opportunity to take fun photos--I was rushed with these two--Zira even still has gunk on her hair from when I took a mold of her head. But if I had to clean/repaint her hair, then that would have set me back a few minutes and the sun is fleeting enough today as it is. Enjoy...

I really know what you mean Jessica. These past couple of months while I've been back east, have really flown by. I fly out Wednesday morning, and am already missing a lot of people here. The other day when it snowed I was able to sneak my JW Calvary Officer outside to snap a few shots. I can't wait to get back and start shooting something again. It's fun.

I love your garden shots of Zira. Here's my JW

Great pictures you guys! Now for a crappy photo.

Here's my new, custom made, built from scratch, X-Files figure (Alex Krycek), I just finished painting him and getting him clothed.

His eyes are black because of the black oil life form that is possessing him.

Aw, Angel...I can't see his eyes! Congrats on getting a figure accomplished. I have not done anything like that for a LONG time. I think a whole year, even longer.

Well, the good news about staying home since I got laid off is that I can watch Planet of the Apes on AMC and right after that they are showing Escape. Whoo! My morning is fully booked. I'm actually going to watch and knit my Romulan Commander swatch for my new costume. The only thing missing now is some rain, which makes me so very happy when I am at home all cozy.

Someone on the OSW wanted to see a photograph of her face, so I took some more shots. This was the best one. I like when the eyes are looking directly at the camera. Too bad the weather sucks today. It was hard to see where her eyeballs were pointing, so I was just guessing when I was taking the pictures.

Some more photos! This morning the sun was out briefly...but it created harsh shadows on Zira's eyes...so there I was on the front porch with a big black umbrella taking photos on the ground. What a sight.

I was just thinking how a repaint of Zira's hairline would totally improve the Sideshow Zira and would be a very easy fix. Look how on the prototype the hairline starts right where the brow ridges are...yet on the actual figure, there's a definite gap between the brow ridges and hairline. Also I think the standard paint job leaves her with cheeks that are too full--this can be slimmed down by paint. Of course, while you're at it, you should definitely remove that horrible lipstick.

She looks great Jess,

I rescheduled my flight out till next Friday, the 12th. :horror

I chickened out when I heard we were getting snow today. I can't wait for this weekends storm. We never get weather like this in Seattle. Let it Snow, let is snow, Let It SNOW! :blissy:blissy

I did a little browsing today in my down time. It appears that the HT Apes are starting to get a little scarce. A lot of the on-line stores I visited were either sold -out or are still selling these at $125+

I even saw one site trying to sell the soldier for $175.00

Angel, how are those railing coming? How many more do you need to make? I hope you're still in the groove.

And the Hot Toys Gorillas didn't last too long in the gift card listing either. :horror:horror:horror

I hope that these signs all but confirms an impending second wave wave of Apes. Can we get a official confirmation Hot Toys? :naughty

One thing that has always bothered me about the Zira sculpt (sorry, Mat) is that her bottom lid is too pronounced, making it look like she is either squinting or is at mid-smile. I think that the sculpt would have serviced the character more if sported a more determined look.
