Hey Sticks...

Yes my son has graduated from Parsons and is now actively searching for a job doing animation. I've posted a link to his film here before and some people here have watched it and have given it positive feedback. I don't think you have seen it yet so here is the link:

Kong33 welcome back. Have you created anything else since we last heard from you? I still remember that excellent hairy body you made for Julius.

Thanks angel. No I have been busy with work for some time now, and free time is been very limited. I have 2 or 3 Sideshow gorillas still in the box if you or anybody else want to do some trading. I picked up some of the Hot Toys apes, and I really like them. I got that crazy hair under control with some water, and they look much better now.

Jom, that looks amazing. Luke has a very bright future ahead of himself. Thank you for sharing. He did a great job. :clap

That would be great. JJ how long did that short take for Luke to create? Most of my shorts take several months.

Wow... Multiple viewings, I-man. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. It means a lot to me and my son, Luke.

Sticks it took him about a semester and a half all told. That of course includes time spent brainstorming the story. and working out the gags on paper way before the animation process begins.

I figured it took a while, he sure did a great job. I showed it to my mother. She laughed when he came in with the "Clog Buster."

I forgot to thank you for posting this picture, Jess. I remember seeing this back in the day. NEVER thought I'd see a still from it. But is Mike Douglas really orangutan material? I'm not so sure he is worthy... I see him more as a chimp.

But the picture I would LOVE to see is Paul Williams singing in full makeup. I seem to remember him hitting the talk show circuit during the Battle promotion doing this, but I can't be sure. I keep checking You Tube to see if somebody posts a video of it. Boy would THAT be something!!!

Nah.. Orangutan for Mike Douglas. Merv and Phil would have been orangutans too!
Ha! Could have made up the tribunal of talk show hosts!

I'm still futzing with his hair. I'm not happy with the top--looks too soft compared to the other parts of his hair. Plus I may bring it up a bit.

More tweaks: I have raised up his hair by a bit--not so much. I also mushed down his nose so it doesn't protrude as much. I think he is really starting to look like Julius!

This is the latest...In this photograph you can see how much I have dented in his nose compared to how he was a few minutes before. It's a very minor change but I think a necessary one.

He will probably go through some more minor changes. Kinda hungry now, so I will forage for something to eat, and then I will look at him again and see where to tweak him.

I understand why you "mushed" his nose, but I think the nostrils need to be widened a bit. Either way this is certainly another Jessica must have!! You are churning out masterpiece after masterpiece lately. I am more envious of you than ever!

Great job Jessica. I'm very impressed with your head sculpts. You're really capturing the likeness' of the individual ape's make up.
Keep up the great work.

Guys wish me luck. I always eff up on the molds because I inevitably get a damned air bubble in the most unwanted of places, where it's really hard to fix. Right now Honorious is in a mold and he's curing. I won't find out until really late tonight or tomorrow morning if the slush layer helped out. I hate waiting!!

Holy smokes Jess. Your sculpt looks great. I wish you all the luck this simian can. Go Jessica!
