Did they make up all 4 of the look-a-like guys on that show? Did they use the flamboyant KISS costumes or did they use street clothes? I'll have to watch out for that show.

I can't wait to see the tribunal all painted up.

I'm not 100% done after all Jessica. :(

I thought I was, but I need to do a few more small things after seeing the movie screenshots I have. I'm going to make some scrolls that can actually open and I need a leather "tablecloth" to put all of the Presidents desk items on. I've also been debating on building a background wall as a backdrop...

Great links, Angel!!!

Although I had all of the costumes, I don't remember seeing any Captain Action commericals. Very cool. :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

Forgot about Billy Blastoff. :horror:horror:horror

And the Smash Up Derby set commerical I recited it line for line as I re-watched. And I haven't seen that in YEARS! The subconscious is a very funny thing. :D

Hey Ironman--remember the guy who was going to laserprint on leather? Something awful happened to their shop. I guess the owners of the company weren't paying rent so the machine was confiscated. My girlfriend told me about it--since she was following up on him because she was waiting for her project to come through. So...that's another dead end in the quest for hieroglyphs.
Definitely too bad. That had so many application prospects. :monkey2

(un)fortunately [?] I recall all of those commercials. That Captain Action one is especially painful. I recall that was the only thing I wanted for Christmas that year and, as the luck in my life would have it, he was unable to be found by my parents. I opened up a present on Christmas morn, saw that CA logo and went ballistic. Cap was mine!! NOT, they thought it would be fine to give me the Aurora model kit instead. :monkey2
I'm glad to hear that some of you are familiar with these older toys. Those catchy commercials really helped to sell those classis toys. It's great stuff to me.

They don't make toys, or commercilas, like those anymore. :monkey2

Here's a couple quick shots. I haven't made the scrolls that actually open up yet, but I did cut the basic shape of the leather tablecloth. Eventually, I'll darken that leather up so it's not as light...

OMG That looks so cooooooool!! Angel I love it I love it I love it. I really like the table that holds the Lawgiver statue. It looks way better than what was in the movie.

Wow! Angel that set up may be edging out you wagon for one of the best 1/6 displays I've ever seen...

Why is Dr. Z wearing that hat?

When are you making the table that Zira and Cornelius sit behind?

Thanks to the both of you for your nice comments and for the support I've received from each of you over the years. I really appreciate it guys. What's up with that hat on Dr. Zaius? I don't know. Its just plain silliness I guess. Did you notice the toy monkey on the table and in front of Dr. Maximus?

I didn't catch the toy monkey, thanks for pointing it out. That's a great little Easter Egg. Reminds me a bit of those old picture puzzles in "Highlights" magazine I used to enjoy as a kid in the dentist's office...

I didn't see that toy monkey. I noticed it in the second photo, when you viewed the scene from above, and I couldn't figure out what it was. I didn't look at the first photo to double-check...only because Dr. Zaius's hat was on the 2nd photo and I thought you had rearranged the items on the table :)

Here are the many iterations of Burke. I sculpted over one of the casts to bring it to the right size...but because it's on plastic I couldn't bake it to cure the Sculpey. I surface-cured it but then burned his nose in the process. I then took a mold of just the face because I wanted to re-do the hair and the cast is where I saw the many imperfections, which I sanded down and then covered up with blue clay. I may fuss with the hair a bit before I make another mold of it and hopefully it will be ok...

I think he's getting there.

You mean when I see KISS on TV they're not the real KISS? They're just look-alikes? They were dressed in their finest concert garb. And the lucky guy who was getting a new house got to play the drums for the band. He also got a new music room as part of his house.

Wow, the set-up looks AWESOME! Great Job Angel, I have to be partial to the wagon. :faq:naughty Here's some old photos of Angels great Work.

He even gave me the Camera for my Birthday! Thanks again Angel. I love your work.

I'm gone all weekend. Have a good one Ape Freaks!

I just bought my first POTA figure yesterday. I got General Ursus in a "distressed" box from Sideshow. I can't wait to get him in hand. I am looking forward to picking up the rest and maybe troop-building the soldiers a little.

Angel you really outdid yourself... that set up is just insane. I hope you don't mind if I re-post the pix here.

And that Prez outfit turned out wonderfully! The orangutan in me is thoroughly jealous! :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

And your pix Sticks always brightens my day. You have a great eye for lighting and composition. :D

Your Hot Toys Gorillas need to hijack that wagon. :naughty

those pictures are impressive! I can't imagine how much those gorilla soldiers must've cost you

I'm still missing Ursus and the sideshow exclusive Taylor (w/ beard).

Angel, your creations are always nothing less than impressive. I spotted the omega man running thru the background and it reminded me of Taylor running thru the background in the original film. LOL
Still any of those would be mosrt impressive in anyone's collection.
Great job!

Still here, IM. I'm currently working on a non ape related sewing project...and March will be busy with prepping costumes for my boys to attend Wondercon. Also I've made a commitment to walk for an hour everyday no matter what. Yesterday was my first time ever and I walked about 2.6 miles. I am still beat from that and could barely function yesterday. Today it's raining cats and dogs but I'm going out as soon as I finish foraging something for breakfast.

Check out this super kewl Dr. Zaius from the TV series for Mego. The head is for sale, $20...unpainted. A regular Dr. Zaius was augmented with hair. It was sculpted by the same guy, Sandy C....the guy who sculpted that awesome Batman I posted a few posts ago. Seeing this makes me want to start sculpting again.

I forgot to say that yesterday I received a Sideshow Legolas polystone for my work on that Fire Genasi. He looks so beautiful!

If that was 1:6 I'd be al over it!
Sandy C? He wouldn't happen to be the same Sandy C that made the Batman:Dead End fan film would he? Still the best Batman ever filmed.
