Planes, Trains and Automobiles
When Del (John Candy) says that his wife had died.
:monkey2:monkey2

A lot of movies already mentioned here where I had to cry. Some movies make me cry for different reasons. Some because it's sad, some because of joy or beautifulness and some because of heroicness, nobility or sacrifice.

Forrest Gump: When Forrest's standing at Jenny's grave and says: "and if there is anything you need I won't be far away"

(that got to me too in Transformers ROTF when Bumblebee says that exact same line with a Forrest voice recording to Sam, because I had to think back to Forrest Gump)

The Green Mile: The ending gets me everytime. It's just so unfair... :monkey2

ROTK: Theodens speech, "Death, Death, Death," the camera zooms out you see the entire Rohirrim shout and then charge. Just typing this and thinking about it raises the hairs on my arm. And the"You bow to no one" scene

Jurassic Park: When the Jeep stops and they see the first dinosaur, the Brachiosaurus. That scene, combined with the beautiful music.

That's all that comes to mind right now...

Forrest Gump - When his mom dies and when he talks at Jenny's grave
E.T. - The ending
Saving Private Ryan - The ending and the credits song
King Kong (2005) - When they gas Kong, when they play on the ice in the park and when they're up in the E.S.B.
The Lion King - When Simba's dad dies
Bambi - When Bambi's mom dies
ROTK - The ending where Gandalf and Frodo say goodbuy and the song by Anni Lennox
The Green Mile - The ending
Jurrasic Park - When they see the Brachiosaurus

I'm sure there's more but that's what i can remember right now.

Also, all Pixar movies have a tear jerker in them as well.

:lecture There's something in every movie that get's me :monkey2 Can't wait to see what it is in UP.

I've never cried at any film but almost did when i thought ET was dead but i was a kid then. :lol

Edit: Oh and when mick dies in rocky and rocky is crying miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick! almost had me but i stayed strong. :D

Bugs Bunny square dance. I cry laughing every time.

I have to say, I was moved by the beginning of Up, and Rocky Balboa, and a few others, but I never felt an emotional connection to the Lord of the Rings movies at all. I enjoyed them quite a bit, but never felt sympathy toward the characters to the extent that my eyes welled up when they "died." They just never felt real to me. Funny that the characters in Up felt more realistic to me in the first 10 minutes (of a cartoon) than any LOTR character did after 9+ hours. The one who probably came closest was Samwise Gamgee, but he "lived" as I recall, so I can't say how his death might have affected me.

Rocky Balboa is very hard to watch without getting a little choked. Even while watching it in the theatre with my wife I had to be careful. :D

Other mentions:

Rocky, Rambo, Forrest Gump, The Wrestler, Rudy ........... That's all I can think of right now.

in mystic river when sean penn gets to the crime scene and is screaming:" is that my daughter". Gets me every time.

Scenes that MADE me cry:

E.T. - when he 'died'. I learned at this movie the importance of 'staying strong' :D My younger brother can tease me mercilessly till this day about how I cried in the theatre. Even today though, I get emotional (no tears) at the good-bye scene at the end.

Dances with Wolves - wolf gets it (hmm, are these spoilers because maybe ppl want to watch these movies when they're being mentioned here?)

Forrest Gump - "Why don't you love me, Jenny?"

Saving Private Ryan - when Ryan asks Miller at the end whether he earned it

Of Mice and Men (Sinise and Malkovich version) - the BOOK made me bawl when I first read it. Need I say more? And the only movie to make me that emotional on a second and third viewing. Uffff. And the only time where it seemed almost the ENTIRE movie audience was getting the sniffles.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Joel says good-bye to Clementine at the beach house

Legends of the Fall - Tristan (B. Pitt) sees his father for the first time after a lengthy absence and his father has had a stroke

T2 - Sarah Connor can't bring herself to kill Dyson and breaks down

Up - most recent, and a first in some time. Damn, I didn't see that prologue coming. Managed to stay mostly strong, especially since my girl-friend was sitting next to me

Star Trek II - I prob WOULD have cried but I saw ST IV first

HUGE LOTR fan but honestly, the only thing that got me was (and this was more of an emotional 'ping' than actual shedding of tears) Gandalf and Pippin talking about the Shores of Valinor and when Frodo is off to those Shores. And mostly because it was the climax of 2 years of anticipation. Oh and when Sam mentions "Rosie Cotton", that's what he sees when he closes his eyes, after they just fulfilled their mission and anticipate they will die.

Lastly, OK what's this about Superman?? Do you guys mean the 1978 film? Where Superman finds Lois in the aftermath of the earthquake? That's the only thing I can come up with.

Beren

The only scene in a film that makes my cry each and every time is the end of Schindler's List when the war is over and Oskar Schindler is going on the run. The Jews under his care make him a ring inscribed with a passage from the Talud and overcme with emotion. he fumbles it, dropping it. He beats himself up for not saving more Jews from the Holocaust as the ones he has saved try to comfort him. I cry like a baby every time I see it.

It's from the Movie Iron Giant.

Also I would like to mention
Pans Labyrinth
Shawshank Redemption when Andy and Red meet up at the end

Wait a minute none of you guys listed crying when old yeller died what are you guys some kind of inhuman monsters.:monkey3

Old Yeller

The Lion King when Simba walks up to the top of pride rock really gets me going.

Band of Brothers when they find the concentration camp.

Rambo when he is telling the missionary lady that they will change nothing really hit me hard because I have had that same conversation with my mother many times before she leaves out to some other country to help people out.

Forrest Gump talking to Jenny's grave at the end.

I cry in everything. Especially Disney movies - I was bawling so hard during the first scene of UP! that I was scared I was going to start making noises!

Since becoming a mom I now also cry during Harry Potter movies/books whenever they show Harry's mom or talk about her love and how she saved his life by sacrificing her own.

The Shawshank Redemption is my all time favorite film but throughout the entire film I found it both inspirational and liberating. I always have an ear to ear smile on my face when Red finally arrives and the camera drifts out.

A league of their own made me cry....
