I really don't like going to the con other than preview night because it is just too crowded. That is the main reason I did not go this year...looks as though I will be missing it again next year.

SD is too small for this con...Los Angeles will be its new home...:hi5:

I personally hope it stays in SD. If not Vegas would be my next choice. I really would hate it moving to LA.

The nice thing about where it is now - hotels and restaurants/bars are all within walking distance. And temperatures are a bit cooler. That would not be the case in downtown LA.

Yeah there is only that little PN on the preview night badges and when they are letting in a mob of people into the show, nobody is looking for that little PN :lol

And that is probably why there are a lot more people at Preview Night than the 15,000 with the proper passes.

Vegas would be waay to hot in the summer and anaheim is run by disney...I also hear they want to keep it in CA...so Los Angeles seems to be the next wise choice. I like SD but its just not working out as the con seems to grow...:lecture

Comic Con needs to stay in San Diego. LA is just too congested and isn't as nice as San Diego. Same thing with Anaheim.

From what I've been reading though, not only would it be harder to find a hotel, but it would be a lot more expensive for that and everything else compared to SD. Not sure how it would be to just get around the area.

Vegas might be hot, but it's not like there isn't plenty of places to get cool. They have cheap hotels close and the food is also cheap. I would love for it to be there, if not SD.

Doesn't SD have a contract for 2011?

I would like it to stay in San Diego for obvious reasons, but for everyone that thinks that moving it somewhere else will magically solve all the crowding/line issues, you are sadly mistaken. you think it's bad now, I guarantee you it will be an ever bigger cluster____ if indeed it does move.

I wonder how many years it would take a new city to work out all the inevitable problems that would come with never having hosted a convention that large.

Man, with all this headache of just even trying to buy tickets A YEAR in advance just makes me not even wanna go anymore. I mean seriously. Why so difficult? It's pretty unfair for people who can't make it out there (like me) then have all the tickets gone before anyone even gets a chance to buy them. They need to have a more organized way of doing this (or more fair to give everyone a fair chance. Like a designated date when tickets go on sale.....)

Exactly my point. What some people fail to understand is that BOTH Comic Con and it's attendee have changed. Do you really think if this convention was just about comics, writers, authors, publishers, etc etc. we would be having this discussion? No.

And with that comes a broader demographic and a bigger audience and that's why SDCC is having the problems it's having now. I don't care where you move it to there simply isn't an indoor venue big enough to hold all the people that want to get into some these panels to see their favorite celebrity. People that could give a snot about comics I might add.

Even Marvel, one of the biggest comics publishers in the U.S has relegated it's comic book artists and writers to ONE side table as an after thought in their massive booth to hawk their movies!

Comic Con has become a Pop Culture Con hiding under the guise of a Comic Con, plain and simple. That's why it's the biggest show of it's kind. Other Cons are starting the see the light (read: $$$$$) especially the ones run by Gareb Shamus and his goons and are inviting more and more Celebs to their special guest roster. Go to their website https://www.wizardworld.com/ and what do you find? it's not about comics anymore, it's a Convention page! and this from a magazine that COVERS COMICS!

I love SDCC and have attended EVERY year since 1993 and I would be greatly saddened to see it go but somethings gotta give. Maybe Darklord Dave is right and they should start charging like 500$ a ticket :lol
