Truthfully, if it wasn't for the freaks I get to see every year, I probably wouldn't go (or at least not as often). That's the biggest reason I go...all the other stuff is icing on the cake. :) And it is awesome to get to talk to the fine folks at SSC and Weta, artists like VanderStelt, Adam Hughes, etc...

I think I have a pretty clear idea of what there is to be found there. I wouldn't be making a sacrifice if I went. That's just not the way I function. When I say toys vs. con, I mean finding a way to do both.

Well if you do come down, the first brewski is on me pal. That incentive enough for ya? :lol :yess::duff

Yes it is. :lecture

Good luck man. That will be the one panel I would wait 2-3 hours in line for and love doing it.

Even if I missed the panel, the energy that would come with being there when that film was about to hit is enough to make the trip worth it for me. Getting into the panel would be awesome though. I bet the line would be fun too (as long as I didn't get stuck next to Jen---she's gonna smell after waiting all night).

I will smell like honeysuckle and lavender. :lecture

2-3 hours? I'm prepared to camp overnight! :lol

Well, that may happen as well. I'll be prepared. :lol

Oh yeah! Next year the energy could be at an all time high with stuff like The Hobbit, Avengers (comes out in may but still), TDKR, etc. Its gonna be nuts the amount of cool stuff that will have some kind of a presence. You are going to pick a hell of a year to go.

Celebration VI gets all my bucks next year. I will return to SDCC in 2013...

Reminds me so much of Millers Ale House and the CV Freaks party. They were showing ROTS and we all screamed "Noooooooo!" at that point.

Not to take anything away from Star Wars, CVI or your experience, but Celebrations (at least the one's I've been to) are fun but pretty one dimensional. I'd much rather go to SDCC and get a taste of it all!

Yeah, same here. I'm sure Celebrations are fun but feels like you're cutting yourself off short if you choose it over comic-con. Star Wars is one of my favorites but I guess I love the other stuff equally or more so than just that one thing.

I liked being able to move more than 5 inches per step and it's the first time I met and hung out with a bunch of freaks. The thing about SDCC, and I've been 7 times now, is there are a lot of varying interests there. I had way more pleasant line experiences at the one Celebration I have been to fully, than all the SDCCs put together.

That's my personal take. :D
