I always enjoy seeing old toy catalog pics. I'm really glad I got to grow up in the 70's and 80's before videogames took over and crippled the toy market. That really was the golden age for toys.

Lone Ranger and I still have Silver in the basement with a broken foot.

Me & my cousin would spend hours stareing & wishing what we wanted...Man, thanks for a trip down memory lane...

I wish I could go back and get a second set of everything there...I could retire...

i remember having the gi joe archaeologist set w/ the egyptian mummy etc. he also had real fuzz hair and beard. when they changed the size of the gi joes to much smaller killed it for me as they were much larger. i think part of my love for sideshow is reliving this era of my youth.

Man I had those! I loved my old lone ranger! I wish I still had him! Can you give me the details?:(

I remember the first time I saw those Lone Ranger figures. They were marketed by Marx in England. It was March 1974 in a toy shop called Hards in Watford, they had them in a display and they just looked fantastic in their packaging!!They were all I thought about for the next few weeks and then when Easter came instead of an egg I woke to find the Lone Ranger!!
Eventually I had Tonto,Butch Cavendish,Silver and the Carson City bank robbery set.A few years ago I found the Prairie Wagon and Hidden silver mine set in the back of an old toyshop £10.00 for the two.

Over here the catalogues to have for the toys were Littlewoods,Marshall Ward and Kays. Many thanks for all the happy time s and good memories this thread has invoked:D

Remember sitting at my Nan's house looking at the toy pages in all of those, and the Argos book too.

Wondering if there are any scans of these online. Will have to have a search when I get home from work...

Cheers,
Doug

That 84 catalog has a lot of familiar toys. I was 6-7 that year and I believe I had chicken pox so I got spoiled. I had the Dukes of Hazard stuff, GoBots, the Zartan and the bridge tank from Joe.

I think 85 was maybe the last great year I was really into actionfigures. I remember Sectaurs and I had the GIJoe oil rig, Tomax and Xamot. I never had Wheeled Warriors or Mask, but I remember the cartoons well.

I do remember some of the 86 stuff like Centaurians, but I don't think I had much of it. I think I was into videogames by that time.

great link. that brought back so many memories.i cant get over how much stuff cost back then ,when $500 would buy every toy in every gi joe, transformers, and mask ......man, times have changed

Thanks for those memories!
I remember my twin brother and I going to my friends house and sitting there looking at what we all wanted for Christmas!

"Misty water colored memories of the way we were..." :monkey2

I don't remember the Sears catalog. I think Service Merchandise and JCPenney were the ones I got all my toy lust fix from. My dad couldn't stand Sears because without fail, they would screw something up when he bought stuff there, and they'd never own up to their mistakes.

Man, I wish someone now would get the Lone Ranger license...
