I will put her right next to my spirit animal.

Oh wait - I didn't buy that either...:sick

The Firefly license gets some of the weirdest random products I've ever seen.

Definitely true.
And I do not remember Kaylee having such a huge egg-shaped head.
Please great toy gods let the Browncoats prayers be answered and allow us to go broke on quality Serenity figures! :bow

When I first heard that QMx had the Serenity license I was expecting some cool things. But besides Mal's gun, I think all we've seen are high-end posters, money, that spirit thing and now these. Just odd stuff. So far I haven't purchased anything from them.

hmmm, and the long wait for Sideshow continues..........

Come on, SDCC08, please, pretty please.

i wish SS would make some 12" figures. its like they are anti-Whedon. they left the Buffy and Angel lines hanging and all it seemed to do is piss the fans off. its already prove that the fan base is there.

I want PFs or high quality 1/6 scale statues :monkey2

Even as a fan of GGs animated maquettes, I don't even consider ordering this tiny blob

Not a bad looking item... but not really my style. If they had started with Mal I think they'd get more of a response, but with as unreliable as Serenity product is I could easily seeing this the only one made and on her own she doesn't really justify the cost.

So are they ever going to release the serenity ship replica?

If people seriously want Serenity/Firefly 1/6th figures, I suggest you start petitioning Amoktime. One look at their classic Battlestar Galactica prototypes convinced me that this is the company I want to give all my hard earned cash to. SS has disappointed so many times by dropping lines or offering less than stellar figures. I refused to start collecting Star Wars and Lord of the Rings 1/6th because I'm afraid SS will drop the lines before a respectable amount of characters are made(where is Lando?). Amoktime or Executive Replicas is willing to take on license like Horror of Party Beach, Blacula, and Killer Klowns from Outerspace. It seems like Firefly would be a no brainer.

Amok Time could be a likely producer... at one point I thought they were also going to release the modern Apollo figure that Majestic was developing, not 100% on that.

But, I agree they would probably do it justice.

Definitely not my taste. I really want some straight forward 12" figures with good likenesses. Is that too much to ask?

Instead we get these strange little offerings QMx, passable to horrible statues from Diamond and a medicore Mal bust from GG.

And just you watch, if these items DON'T sell, Sideshow will point to these lackluster items and say "See we told you... FIREFLY/SERENITY IS NOT A PROFITABLE FRANCHISE!"
:monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

At which point we would all turn around and say BS, they weren't profitable because they weren't what we all wanted. Make top quality 12" figures and PF statues and I'll show you a PROFITABLE FRANCHISE.

This does bring one thing to mind, it seems as if there has been a bunch of Firefly official license around the place, yet no one makes what we all really want. Is it possible that this is because the license part for 12" figures and high-end statues is restricted to someone already and just not announced yet.

Yeah, yeah, I know, living in a fools hope, but at least its better then no hope :banghead

believe me when i say no offense to anybody but why do you think these would be so profitable? because a dozen or so people on this board want them? do you think SS could sell out a couple thousand figures if they made them? everybody would start complaining about price, likeness, and paint and SS would be stuck with them all. they cant even sell 1500 frodo figures and that is one damn good figure plus he's the central character of the LOTR films. plus they cant even sell poor giles. he's not even at low quantity alert yet. that means SS has hundreds left. dont get me wrong id be all over these figs but you gotta cut SS some slack for not going for it.

I don't know... Sideshow is willing to go with licenses like Reservoir Dogs, The Fly and Darkman. I still have hope that one day we might see them or someone else do a 1:6 line. As unlikely as it might seem.

I think one could come up with a few more then a dozen....

Have you seen some or all of the fan doco from here: https://www.donetheimpossible.com/

Yes, ppl would complaining about price, likeness, and paint, especially likeness and paint, which is why they need to be done very well, but then that applies to anything. Just look at all the Star Wars fans, and yet the first Luke and Han PF's ain't exactly hard to come by if you want them, its just that they are not very good and hence most ppl don't want them (compare that to selling out 4000 Indy PF's and one can see why).

When spending 100, 200 or more, one expects darn good quality, deliver that on a Firefly range of 12" figures and PF's, go to one of those conventions and watch Firefly fans order hundred's faster then they could write the details down.

As Batty said, is SS can do Reservoir Dogs, The Fly and Darkman, I find it totally hard to beleive, that if they nail production quality on say Mal or River, that SS wouldn't have any problems selling 1000 PF's once word got out to all the fans. Which lets face it, would really only take an announcement/preview at SDCC.
