I did like that one specific scene.

But I just can’t say enough how much I hated watching a smart and resourceful Billy Batson act like an 8 year old when he was Shazam it made no freaking sense.

But it did make sense. The smart and reserved resourceful kid missed out on his child hood and missed out on being a kid he was broken i wont spoil why. And when he does get this Shazam powers he becomes complete and can finally be that kid he never ever was. Its brilliant.

Yeah like no it made no sense because as soon as he changed back to BB he was right back to being a person who wouldn’t waste time acting silly in public because he was on a mission.

Billy is a kid given awesome powers he’s not ready for. The fun was going on the journey with him trying to figure it all out and finally becoming truly a superhero. (after all he’s not Rey) It was also about Billy finding his place and a family in the end. It was a little silly a times, but it did it with a nod and a wink. it also had a huge heart. I’ve seen it twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. A quote from the closing narration of The Outer Limits episode The Inheritors sums up the core of this movie perfectly. “in this spot, magic settled for a moment. Wonder touched a few lives, and a few odd pieces fell smoothly into the jigsaw of Creation.”

David F Sandberg said that Billy was rather shy and an introvert as Billy Batson and when he turned into Shazam he felt more like himself. Maybe they should have explained that better to me though it was ok.

You have it right. Billy had a rough life and had to grow up quickly. He's developed a very cynical view of life. When he becomes Shazam he feels empowered and in control for the first time. His childlike innocence and euphoric behavior is his suppressed inner child finally being able to come forward. He can let his guard down without any fear. It's the first time in his life he feels truly free just to be a kid. I loved it.

Enjoyed this movie. The feeling of being a kid with nothing again but imagination. There's plenty of adult superheroes movies. This one offer the perspective of being young and discovering comics or the likes. 8/10

Next up: Hellboy and then Avenge some peep with probably disappointing ending.

Just like there's room for a more kid friendly Bumblee next to the Bay directed Bayverse, I'm sure there's room for this movie in the large realm of superhero movies.

Grace makes some good points. But DOA. that's laughable, The film is performing higher than projections, It's estimated to come in around 57m D and 158 WW

The folks at WB are smiling right now. the film is off to a strong start, we'll see where it goes. DOA.....PLEASE!

International is DOA though and that’s critical because of the Avengers about to snuff out Shazam/Hellboy in a few weeks.

Domestic lets see 2nd weekend I agree it’s not as bad DOA as Dumbo is.

I agree, this movie was mediocre. The worst DCEU movie. I wanted to love it cause of the early glowing reviews from youtube reviewers, but I think they are shills now.
