Shipping Notice for Sidious Mechno Chair!!!

My Sidious still has not been released to UPS from SS, although I did receive a Quantum notice on Friday saying it would be delivered on Monday, yesterday... Hmmm.... what's the hold up?

I hate to say I told you so but.... Dang it, I hate to say that!

Give it another day or two Guy's sure it will ship by then.Ive gotten the quantum view email as well,it usually ships a day after you get it.

Interesting thing I want to point out to my fellow NA's, I noticed too, my Boushh which I got Quantum View for same time as Sidious last night, also came through for Order Update, Ship Notice, and Invoice, where Sidious has not come through on any of those other emails, so I would say my theory on Sideshow prepping the shipments in the system ahead is true, and because of how the UPS system works, once the shipment data was uploaded to their servers, the automated process submitted the quantum views and along with that, gives a target ship date, but the true shipdate won't appear in the tracking area until it's been picked up, and once that happens your tracking pages will load an expected delivery date.

That's what I've been saying with ya. I would find it a little odd to let NA get the Convention Exclusives "days" before those going.

I don't remember what it was like last year with Vader, mine shipped out like almost 3 weeks after SDCC, it was one of the last shipments of the original orders before second chance and all that, so I don't remember how it went down for the first NA's to get him shipped.

Yeah, pretty much hit the nail on the head.

I've got the same thing going on right now with the new HP book. Got my tracking number on the 12th, but of course it won't actually be shipped with all the other thousands of orders until later this week.

Well when I got my Leia/Boussh notice, I got the one for Sid at the same time as well. They are due the same day...Monday the 23rd..two seperate notices, two seperate tracking numbers. But like MaulFan, I've only recieved the invoice et al for Leia.

Npw it wouldn't be the first time for me to get just the quantum notice with no other updates of any kind and still have the figure show up at my door with updates and notices afterwards....we'll see.

And I know it's been mentioned but...honestly what difference does it really make if NA's start getting theirs first? Attendees are going to a kick-ass show, get to enjoy the new stuff and announcements up close and personal, go to hang and party with other freaks while we NA's are home playin' with our toys...if there is a "deal" here, I think the attendees are doin' fine....

Yep, it appears that the Quantum views were a bit premature. Mine is still listed as arriving tomorrow... but there has been 0 update on the package moving

Alright heres the scoop from Sideshow!! The Holo Chair will not ship until until friday 07/20/07 as advertised! They sent everyone notices becuase they are set to ship and they all have been assigned tracking numbers which is why we got them but there has been no activity. They did everything in advance so all they have to do is have the truck pick up friday morning . I will have mine Thursday but it will be next Thursday!! I actually don't mind them doing this so everyone gets them around the same time. They also said Ventress will be here more sooner than later so they wanted to get everything out they they can get the Regualr Edition Leia's and out and Ventress out as soon as they come in since we have all been waiting so long for them.

This if from RS. It's what some of us have been saying. NA will get it during/post con.

Josh, thanks for the info! And that's terrific news on Ventress!!!

While I'm stoked about Sidious, it will give me some breathing room. If all goes according to plan, Leia Boushh will arrive from Corner Store Comics next week, and that's the first SSC review I need to do (this weekend will be the TRU exclusive Dagobah X-Wing). Then Sidious will hopefully follow within a week to week and a half. There's SSC Review #2.

And hopefully Ventress will follow within another two weeks or so.

Good heavens, I'm gonna be a busy little bee on the weekends for a while!!!

That probably won't happen until tomorrow night's newsletter. Although I do agree they should just release an official word on this situation already.

I can see where you're coming from, but it's not as though only a handful of cases are having problems, it's the entire NA group, and bottom line we will get our products, it's not really Sideshow's fault that we all go spastic upon getting a shipping notice, it doesn't seem like a situation the requires special attention, and it probably won't be addressed because they're busy prepping. We're actually lucky this year, it looks like they should at least ship same time as Comic Con runs, last year they weren't even processed until after the show. The only problem here is just the way shipping software runs, I see it all the time at my work. Even though you schedule a shipment out days early, the shipping systems treat it instantly as an active shipment upon receipt of the data from the shipper, so as soon as Sideshow runs off a label, UPS' system doesn't analyze when the pickup date or anything is, it just acknowledges a package, and because Sideshow uses the Quantum View feature, that sends out notice to the recipient that the package information has been submitted, and probably has a pre-programmed calculation based on shipping type, of projected arrival dates, I consistenly can predict when a package from Sideshow will arrive based on when it's shipped. The only thing really at fault or in need of change is UPS' system could use some programming to not send out Quantum notice until the scan by their driver when they finally pickup the package, but that's UPS' policies, not Sideshow.
