Thanks, guys. I haven't customized the paint app yet, but thought I'd share on the body used, as I've tried a lot of different ones..this being the least work, or no work in switching bodies.

Looks great Solo_bones!
Do you keep the hands & paint them(+ add plate) or switch them out for something else?

Nice looking Sandtroopers Will, the best ones I have seen. Good stuff.

Thanks, Chris! The body really brought out the armor and the character. I'm going to try and repaint when I get back from SF next week.

Thanks, irezumi. I actually dip them in plastic dip and they come out looking just like gloves. Two dips ought to do it, or a very thick single dip. Then I just cut the armor off the old Marmit hands or SS that i don't use. Sometimes I do use SS hands. But I really like these soft hands that can be opened and shaped around what ever you want them to hold.

I'll post some pics of the before and after.

As it happens I got a Soldier Story body just a week ago. I have ordered a couple of different bodies lately (different HT clones, Soldier Story, TTL etc) to try out and plan on fixing all at the same time since I have five of them now. I just took a really long break, but since I have finally bought a few new bodies I will try to get moving shortly. The Soldier Story body does seem almost perfect though, it's plain to see holding it in hand.

Hand pics would be interesting.

Thanks, Jkno and shockwave ..now it's time to finish the display. Wasn't motivated when one trooper wasn't looking right.

Congrats anwe...post pics of the bodies you bought. Also, looking forward to seeing how they come out. They pose really well.

Cool thanks for sharing!
My Marmits are all on stock bodies..i'd love to "upgrade" them, but might be a little challenging for me:monkey3

My current poor display. I'm lacking space so much... :monkey2 but I prefer to keep all my 12" in display case and leave all the Transformers inside the closet. Also I keep changing their position, so Luke and Old Ben went beween the PT stuff...

You mean the Soldier Story bodies? You can find them on e-bay anywhere from 19.99 to 49.00. Some have heads, some don't. Some are higher priced. I got my last one for 19.99.

Good luck man!

Yeah, I was intimidated at first too. The good thing about these bodies is the only thing you need to modify is the hands, everything else works as is. It's just and improvement to the Marmit body.

So again, you only need to do something to the hands to make them look gloved and that's it. I just dipped mine in plastic dip. This is one dip, but two usually does the trick.

I also used Thor hand to properly have a SS trooper hold the Dewback staff.

Really cool, hey is that an indy tuxedo in the back? Where did you get it?

Just cause I wuvs ya. Quick iphone pics of my OT.

(even Thrawn in the background... one of the best SSC SW exc. IMO)

Some Rebel scum to balance things out.

And my absolute favourite OT stormies...
