I have a Marmit Sandtrooper as well as a Sideshow Storm and Sandtrooper. I'm hoping to get a HT Stormtrooper soon, but at least I have a HT SpaceTrooper on PO. Even with soft details, the Marmit looks most screen accurate, but right of out the box (at least in pics) the HT looks amazing. Maybe it's slightly idealized, but I'm okay with that for the Stormtroopers. Certainly moreso than with Vaders. Not even sure what my point is now, lol, but you could take any of these and have the people at places like RPF tear them apart with details you're not even aware of. The HTs one looks so good to me, but none of them are perfect.

To tell you the truth, the more and more I look at pics from the movie, the debate of what's accurate can go on til the end of time. But personally (like I've said before) I think the Marmit is the best representative.
Actually there's a blog (can't remember the name of it) that compares all of the stormy's side by side, so I guess anybody can come to any conclusion.
The one weird thing that I did gather from that blog was how the medicom strangely looks pretty accurate, but kinda wonky.

Well was bored and snapped a couple for yah guys. The GG is smaller and might look odd on a marmit or SS. I replaced the medicoms with marmits.

Yeah, this pic shows up the Marmit inaccuracy - compare the "teeth to chin curve" distance on the GG head (second from left) to the Marmits either side. Also, you can see how the chin isn't sculpted with enough curve and overall the GG is more like a triangle and the Marmit is more squared (I mean sculpted edge around/ablve the chin grill.) It's subtle, but it throws out the likeness a bit.

Compared to the GG, the whole chin portion (the single piece from below the teeth and surrounding the mics and grill) is also too large on the Marmit.

It's such a very complex helmet sculpt that no one has really nailed in 1/6, but that GG is pretty damn close. Unfortunately in 1/6.5 scale.:lol

GG simply scanned the helmet from their bust from a 1:1 helmet so that's why their sculpt is the best (minus size and mic tips). And GG did this long ago, and unfortunately didn't repeat the experience with the newer Stormtrooper statue. All other companies sculpted their stuff (remember the "artistic interpretation" SSC is so proud of :banghead), Marmit being the closest to the screen accuracy, HT in the middle, Koto and Medi were next and the last was SSC, far from the others. Even uglier than SSC was the horrible looking Tomy Stormie helmet, though that was more 1/7.

If I remember right, the Medicom is the ROTJ Stormie design.

Not really. Medi helmet is still ANH, but due to narrowness people tend to think it is ROTJ - though it can be converted into that. And the armor is more ANH. ROTJ TK armors you can see on GG statue, Attakus 1/5 and 1/10, and Koto 1/10, but all with ANH based helmets

[...] The ears are also not quite prominent enough for ANH, but I'm doing a little dark grey line where the earpieces join the helmet to hopefully make them pop a bit.[...]

Did that recently; it's subtle but goes a fair distance to remedying that issue.

[...]People seem to think the GG stormie mini-bust is the best ANH sculpt, though I don't think it's fully 1/6. I considered getting it to cast, but they aren't cheap, and everytime I buy a GG bust thinking I'll use the head for 1/6, I get it in-hand and realize it ain't going to work.[...]

Refer to Sergiu's post about the GG. It is too small, though. As I said last time we talked about this, eventually I think I'm going to take a run at making my own, but currently my modelling time is taken up by paying projects. Stupid real life. Stupid bills. ;)

I think toomuchgarlic has a 1:1 ANH stormie helmet 3D scan that he's shrunk to 1/6. But he also has an amazing 1/6 Vader helmet project that seems to have been going for many, many years without a finish line.

I think the Vader project is still going only not open to the public anymore (to buy), only those already involved. Or I misunderstood something as usual. :lol

Interesting. You're right now that I went back and looked. It very much looks like the Jedi helmet, but the details are all ANH. Weird.

Were there two different Medicom sculpts? This one definitely looks like the Jedi version.

Just paint the "teeth" all-black and overpaint to make it thicker than normal and you'll be half ways to a ROTJ helmet. That's why the proto looks more ROTJ.

They're nice figures, but a bit on the short/slim side.
Bodies are a bit fragile too. But the finish and quality of the materials is great.
The pic posted above is pretty much what you get.

Here's a pic of my Medis from a few years back.

And with the SSC troops, also from a couple of years ago.

It always bothered me how the chest armor looks like it's riding up too high, therefore leaving an odd gap between the chest and stomach armor. If I knew that I could remedy that somehow then I think I would probably get one.
Also, the mention of two helmet types on the medi had me scratching my head a lil bit.

Medicom bodies were frail and always prone to breaking. The proportions on the Stormie's body always looked really weird to me, plus the tiny hands. I opted for the Sideshow at the time, which has a trunk full of it's own issues, but it was a good size.

The Medi's chest armor looks like the "small bust" option. :lol

Yet the Medi codpiece looks jumbo next to the SSC. Just like on the Scout, SSC always seems to go with the "ladies underwear look" when it comes to codpieces.:dunno
