AWESOME!!!! :rock2

I agree. Although some of Sideshows armor parts are close to accurate. The SS chest is good as well as the straps. You just need to raise the chest a bit by taking the straps off and regluing them. The ab plate is close but the cod piece is awful. The kidney plate is good as well as the butt plate. The SS belt is awesome. I wish Marmit had made it seperate like SS. The thighs are all wrong as well as the shins and forearms. I think SS helmet is what kills it for me. I don't like theirs at all. SS is still very good and passable but to anyone who knows TK armor, Marmit is the shiznit.

well, built a better one than sideshow!

Man, i said it on this board ever since i started posting here and i'm glad another person can see this. For a 12yr old figure kit, its still the most screen accurate Stormie in 1/6th scale.

I have the SS han and Luke stormtrooper figs and as a whole the armor is good. Especially the small details like the detonator being removable and all the pieces seperated. I think it the cod piece was accurate it wouldn't bother me so much but next to a Marmit you can really see the difference. Even though Marmit is very plasticky looking and SS texture of the armor is nice the look and accuracy of the Marmit armor is superior.

Here are my repainted Sideshow Sandtroopers. I also swapped out the SSC helmets and used Marmit ones,

I really need to pick up the Desert Sands version.

They look great! Only the cod piece too small, maybe replace it with Marmit and thus having the best Sandies out there.

well marmit is out of business, rarely available, overly expensive on the secondary market and has its flaws itself.just a thought....

Not really. You just have to be patient and wait for a deal. I got all my kits brand new for less than $75.00 each. Just got the stormie kit never opened and hardest to find off ebay for only $70.00. much better than the $200.00 after market price tag for a SS trooper.

Since we're on the topic of Marmits, which body would be best to use to upgrade one, to have more poseability? I've read that Dragon, DID and TrueType bodies all work, but I'd like to get some definitive answers, possibly with pictures if any of you have some.
I'm not opposed to cutting the ankles to allow for more articulation either.

I've got mine on dragon bodies. Fits real nice. Not too hard to put on and stays on well. The neck fits really well too.

The accessories are top notch. All the straps and leather are good quality. Changing the codpiece and the helmet to Marmit would make an ultimate sandy.

I compared all three before buying my first stormy. I always thought the Sideshow one was way ahead, although many peeps here hate the bucket ...

It's obviously not just the helmet though. The armour proportions on the SSC one are all over the shop.

The Marmit may be slightly less detailed & not as refined from side on, but the overall sculpt & proportions are the money IMO.

There are 2 main problems with the SS 1:6 Stormtrooper and Sandtrooper: helmet and cod piece. Everything else is ok, not perfect but ok. Helmet has a few things that make it look weird: big mic tips and the jaw part under the frown is huge. The cod piece is tiny.

What are you guys doing staring at cod pieces anyway. That's what is worrying me. I am sure many feel if it looks like a stormtrooper then its a stormtrooper and don't think any further about it.
