Indeed they do!

However, I must say that the overall look of the Marmit is still the best IMO. The shapes and proportions are perfect. The Sideshow Stormies, while having great detail and the added bonus of being built like the real thing just don't manage to look as good. Mostly because of the flaring chest and the oddly shaped thigh and shin armor. No to mention the underdeveloped cod piece...

Never cared for the SS Stormtroopers. I've had three seperate ones in my possession and they just look fat. I didn't care for them so I got rid of them.

What are you guys doing staring at cod pieces anyway. That's what is worrying me. I am sure many feel if it looks like a stormtrooper then its a stormtrooper and don't think any further about it.

because at a going rate of 180$, you would want the best. hence, voicing out to revisit and improve.

^ have to agree. im also thinking of 'squeezing' the body armor a bit on the SSC stormies to give a bit of a hug.

That can be easily done with a hair dryer, and the armor will look much better. I did this to all my SS troops

For the money I paid for it I want the best rendition possible. This is not a $10 Hasbro figure. I don't want to be 100% accurate but look at how good the old Marmit figure (regarding accuracy), or the Kotobukiya Stormtrooper/Sandtrooper (no matter the stupid Stormie pose), or the Getnle Giant TK bust. SS could have made this better but some people are too easy to satisfy...

Looking at those comparison pics, I realized something.
They all look like storm troopers to me.

No more Stormtroopers for you! :nana:

Fix the chest armor with the hair dryer and they will look much better. Not perfect but better.

Come on you guys , time for a reality check ! Next you'll be telling me that the SSC Darth Vader is innaccurate ! ( Dons crash helmet and hides behind the sofa ). :lol

SS 1:6 Vader is more aacurate than the screen used one! :exactly:

In comparison to what - Ralph McQuarrie's painting? :lol

has anyone gotten the diamond select bust banks? curious about the size and quality of these, looking at the white phase 2 trooper for some customs

If that were true they would be happy with the Hasbro stormtrooper :D . When someone says "well its not screen accurate" it kind of sucks the life/fun out of it for some folk.

This makes for interesting reading about accuracy. I'm a no stripes guy.

Oddities with armour

I prefer the edged crotchguards myself by the way. :D

Maybe to make the folks feel better we should say "the SS 1:6 Stormtrooper is more accurate than the screen used one" :pfft::lol

That's a great reference site. There are many oddities in the armor throughout all three movies. The edged armor is from ROTJ.

Some didn't have the blue war paint stripes on the helmet tubes and most were put together with tape. But the overall shape of the armor stayed consistent.

Those of you guys who don't care about the accuracy of the armor I get it. You just want a Stormtrooper your happy with so you can be done with it. You don't care about my OCD and the fact that I'll never stop trying to improve the look of my figures. But if I can't vent with my fellow neurotics up here then where can I?

You can be as OCD as you want it's a relatively free forum. I am partial to a wee cup of it as well. :D Its pointless going into an accuracy thread and bemoaning the fact all the posters are too anl-retentive. I don't see this thread being one of them. So anything goes I guess.

@jkno

You might have caught onto something there. Maybe start your own line of figures.

"JKNOSHOW figures: More accurate than accurate." :lol

I am guilty though of railroading the thread and so need to post some troopers pics.
