Yeah, there's a lot of pages to scroll through. Check page 45. Think they plan on closing it at 30 sets, which would be $545 I believe.

I would have just bought a custom a long time ago but most I've seen have had new hope hair unless someone has found one that I've missed? It shouldnt be wavy and should be a lighter brown color.

Maybe joost would be able to take a crack at an entire figure?

Here’s mine. Head by Inigo, paint by Silent Surfer.

The problem with a really good custom is that you'll spend 3-4 times what a HT Han Bespin will cost you. I'd assume all-up (head, paint, trackable shipping to and fro) DrX's head above would have easily cost more than a shipped HT fig.

Then there's the possibility you spend all that, go to the time/effort of putting it all together, then a few months later HT pulls a Luke Bespin on you: the years-lost fig suddenly previews and goes up for PO.

It's the key problem of HT's near-total lack of engagement with its collectors all along - they constantly do stuff that makes no sense (they preview 3 different power droids, actually releasing one, but no Han Besp?) and there's no way to predict it.

Even SSC at one time had a "Ask Sideshow" avenue to ask them questions (even if some of what they said they would make they didn't, and vice versa.)

It would need to be a setup where X number of people would go in on a lot for me to go the custom route. Would need to see what the prototype would look like and I would prefer the whole thing, not just the head. I know someone set up one of these a few months ago but I didn't really dig the head and expression choice.

I think its safe to say now that hot toys, even if they did announce this, would not match a quality custom anymore anyway and while I see a resemblance in the 2 anh solo and dx jones figures, I think they are really only passable honestly. The best ford they have done is probably the old washed up version.

tbh, the only custom Han I've seen that nailed Ford was the ANH jnix - yet even the other jnix HF sculpts (that used the same base face sculpt) haven't really fully worked.

And Han's ESB hair is super-tough to get looking right - it always looks a little funky with the giant sculpted valley down the middle.

Even HT has a pretty poor OT-era HF record - Indy, ANH Han, stormie Han - all combos of just-okay, funky and meh.

But it's worth it. Nothing HT releases will touch custom work anyway. And they have already proven they cant sculpt young Ford. Inigo nailed it. Yunsil clothing is steps above HT in terms of quality. And of course Robbies Leatherwork and blaster is nothing short of perfection. Yeah it's costs $$$$ but I'm totally OK with sacrificing a few mass produced HT pieces to have this level of quality on the shelf. And it's Bespin Han!

I think those rationalizing on waiting should just stop waiting and go the custom route at this point. Trust me guys, you won't be disappointed.

if you truly love the character's design, jump on the custom train but be warned you'll be looking at spending 1000+ all together. don't want to go into quotes since everyone will go to different painters and such but a fully painted headsculpt will cost more than a full hot toys figure. even if hot toys does end up releasing a figure for that character, it'll be nowhere as good than having tons of artists put together their time and passion into something special. the quality just hits different

quality > quantity. that's how i sometimes justify buying custom pieces

i believe someone did a real leather han boots run recently, i know those pleather ones in general (not just han's) flake or crack on the joint area. id be all over this, if i wasn't in another run that pretty much sapped all my funds. right now is probably the best time any collector could dream for a bespin han. sculpt reopening for inigo's sculpt and yunsil opening up a second run for the outfit

As much as a good Ford is wanted from HT, anything they make won't capture his likeness.

I've only seen his likeness captured back in the day by Trevor Grove for Sideshow and ruined by paint, crappy bodies and tailoring.

Then there's this recent custom too.

That is one of the best likenesses of Ford hands down. But I will mention it's only available for the full figure run that costs $3K.

I’m sorry to be the guy that bumped this and to all the people who clicked with tempered excitement…

I gave up a long time ago on Hot Toys releasing him so I thought I’d share the new Waruna head with SS paint. Clothes are Yunsil, custom body, and gun belt by Robbie the Painter. I couldn’t be happier. Sorry if this should have gone in my customs thread. That said, my other Bespin Han is for sale for anyone interested…

Also, I’m trying lots of different hands so these DiD ones are more of an experiment than anything else!
