it's kind of hard to say cuz i bought it as a full figure complete with kato custom clothes. only thing i had to do was switch out the tt adv arms with narrow. so i cant say exactly how much the owner charged me for the sculpt and how much the clothing. but you're probably looking at over a grand for one of adam's joker sculpts. it kind of depends on which one--the earlier ones probably go for a little less--and how much the owner loves it.

Last I heard, it's a couple grand for a simple cast of one of his existing sculpts...if he decides to "grace" you with permission to buy from him.

Thought this is pretty hilarious :lol

collection's kind of incomplete at the moment. havent finished putting ras and bane together yet and still have to paint the nurse joker and replace the toysmon 2.0 detonator. forgot to upload pics of the BR and dont have pics of the rest yet. and no detolf yet. also the bats is going to be getting a modded medi cowl that accepts all ht dx and modded dx faceplates. so for now...

this is the best adam's sculpt for me! crazzzzzzzzzy! :)

Pretty sure I was just told that if you buy directly from Adam it's around $2000.... no thanks tbh, he's a great sculptor but y'know, money's great too :dunno

Time for me to learn sculpting then... 500 bucks was my limit, I think. :lol

Not that particularly satisfied with the any of the mass-produced Jokers out there.

not to rev up the whole heath ledger vs. the joker thing again, but while adam's sculpt is absolutely stunningly remarkable, it's definitely heath ledger ~ and not the joker.

there really is a difference and clearly some people prefer one over the other. me, i get depressed when i see images of heath ledger not being the character; it's just too hard to see him that way ~ the illusion is so much less painful.

and frankly, as an actor, i think that's how he would have wanted it.

thanks neo--your joker collection is a beauty too, dracula, thomas, jack and dbe for the kind words. i really dig this piece too and am thrilled it's in my collection. i wanted it from the first moment i saw it. and then got really lucky one day. as for it's worth, i have no regrets with what i payed. but i love ledger's work, joker has always been my favorite character(along with bats) in comics--by the way has anyone been reading batman lately, "death of the family" is sick and joker is in rare form--and thought ledger's perf was legendary. i've never spent anywhere near this much for a figure before and might never again but for me joker is the one to do it on, and this sculpt in particular. i cant gauge whether i over payed or whether the value will increase but i dont care. dont see this leaving my possession. maybe that's weird. probably a little.
there are jokers to be had for less money: think mrm does a great job. and steve's wips i've seen are looking real good too.

i hadnt really understood that debate until the other night but i think i now get it: some people want a sculpt of a guy in the makeup worn by ledger as joker in the film but dont really care for the lkeness so much of the actual character as played by the actor in the film. is this right? in any case, i guess it doesnt really matter as those who want a figure that is done in the style of tdk's joker will be thrilled with the HT release and for others there are always customs. i suppose it's interesting to me that you never hear this argument over the nickolson joker. anyway to each their own.

nicholson isn't dead. and didn't die young so close after playing the character. that could be part of it. heath ledger's joker carries enormous emotional baggage.

thanks for "getting" it. i think people fight about this perhaps because they aren't really able to articulate the reasons for their preferences very well.

true, nickolson is alive. and ledger was one of my favorites to watch on screen. still watch his movies all the time--even in the poorer flicks, he was always eminently watchable--and i lament his loss from film, and theatre as i believe he had been in discussion with the director of 'candy', a renowned theatre director, to headline a production of hamlet and i bet it would have been unbelievable.

Nicholson = Better laugh, more accurate. HOWEVER, he was a celebrity who knew he was a celebrity, and in that meant he no longer had to do a good job in his acting. He was good in his youth but his acting did the same as his personality, turned sour.

Ledger = A fantastic actor, new take on an iconic character, unique. Although, his success may have been emphasised by the news of his death, I believe he deserves every bit of praise he got for his acting, out of sympathy or not, he was brilliant. Brokeback Mountain is another example of how good of an actor he is, he should have gotten more recognition then but he didn't.

Well Ledger's joker is also accurate. Especially when you compare him to the Joker in my all time favourite graphic novel, The Killing Joke. The very same book Tim Burton based his Joker on, though I find it highly unlikely that Nicholson could be bothered to read a comic book. At the end of the day, it all depends on how the character's written in the script, doesn't it?

there's also a lot from the first appearance of joker in nolan's version. and this one prose issue written a few years back by grant morrisson with computer generated art. forget the title right now but it's in the batman and son--i think it's called--trade.
