^ You're the only one whining right now, genius, and you're also the one who decided to make things political.

But yup, I agree. **** safety, common sense and the environment. This is 'murica. I drive what I want.

Cute.

The problem is, safety, common sense, and 'the environment' rarely point in the same direction. The safest option is typically the biggest, heaviest vehicle you can get. The 'common sense' option is the vehicle that fits your lifestyle best. The 'environmental' option is often difficult to discern ... but, you're typically looking at size, noise and fuel efficiency (though I'm not convinced that charging an electric car is much better than burning gasoline).

The question isn't "safe, common sense and environmental" vs. "I'll drive what I want." The question is, "safe, common sense, or environmental -- which do you want?" That's where the 'freedom' aspect comes in. You get to pick your own priorities ... and tell people who want you to prioritize differently to shove it.

I prioritize safety (weight, particularly), ground clearance, carrying capacity and engine power over efficiency and emissions. And, to me, utility is "common sense". I want a vehicle that can do everything from commute, to family vacations, to hauling, to towing, to off-roading. It floods around here a good bit, so I want vehicles that're high enough off the ground that a foot-and-a-half of water isn't going to be lapping over the hood. I have a family of five and we don't fly ... so I need cab space and luggage-capacity for long trips. We haul and tow things occasionally, so I want engine power. I have a long commute, so I want an engine that can take a lot of miles without wearing out (there's a reason long-haul truckers use diesel engines).

All of that matters more to me than the judgment of environmentalists. Sure, all things being equal, I prefer fuel efficiency to fuel inefficiency. But, all things are not equal. I have to choose. A small, efficient vehicle that doesn't fit my family or my purpose, or a vehicle that does everything I want it to do, and that will protect my family in the worst case scenario ... but that burns a bit more fuel. I choose the latter. That makes 'common sense' to me. With those purposes in mind, we drive a Suburban and a Diesel Dodge Ram.

You're welcome to disagree, and drive whatever car you want. But, don't expect me to conform to your priorities. I have my own.

Agreed +1. Snake Doctor's mature response to Lar'ja's observations is what intelligent, reasoned dialogue looks like. There's absolutely no need for politics in this thread.

everyone knows there is only one party now... corporations control it now, There is only the illusion of choice, no point in arguing about that.

Agreed. Take it to PM if you want to call each other silly names or criticize each other's political/religious beliefs.

Ground clearance ain't for everybody ...

Heh. Couldn't even clear the driveway.

The car looks dumb with the tires so far up. A car that low needs hydraulics. The Ferrari F40 has adjustable suspension for things like that.

He got what he deserved.

all he had to do was have a better spotter and actually go in straight instead of at an angle. hes a rookie. i do car events all the time and there are cars that low that never get damaged. he barely missed the side skirt too.

I spotted this car from the back looking down an alley walking around my neighborhood, I finally went to check it out.

1969 Plymouth Satellite, hard-top. Generic version of GTX/Road Runner. All the same sheet-metal except for the hood.

All light metallic green, even the cop steel wheels and very straight. Probably has a 318 under the hood.
I think the same person who originally bought this still owns it, last Reg tag on the plate was 2011.
Cleaned up it would make a great cruiser or an excellent platform for something larger.
Times like this I wish I had more space and $.

Just got the supercharger and cooler in this weekend. I love this thing so much now 2012 civic si. Think I posted pics of the outside already earlier in the thread.

The new 300 is great car. Very nicely designed with a decent powerplant.

When it comes time to get a new daily driver, it'll be that or the Charger. Front end on the scat pack looks better but I don't need 485hp everyday, I won't complain about it though. :lol

I figured Thrifty was a old gold miner looking guy, I would've never imagined he had a car that looked like that.

At least now it doesn't feel like such an uphill battle.

Just need to get it up on a Dyno now.

Very Nice!:rock

That's sweet man!! I joined the MOPAR family a couple years ago.. On my 2nd 300... :)

Me too. Sharp 300! My list of Muscle Cars goes back to 1991 when I was a Senior in HS with a 1987 Z28. Between then until 2012 I had a 1968 Camaro SS 396, 1978 Trans Am, 1991 Z28, 1979 Z28, 1995 Z28, and 1997 Z28.
I picked my 2013 Avenger just over two years ago. I was gonna go Charger but didn't want to deal with RWD in the snow anymore. I have to say that with the 3.6 Pentastar, it's a really fun, quick little car. For now it's the perfect little family car to get my son to his hockey games, but in a couple years I'll probably give this to the wife and get me a Challenger.:lol
