Well, it "should" have been an arm as well as the stump you actually get. Bottom line is, when you see the stump in the movie you also see the arm, so not sure on the logic of not including it.

Well you have the regular arm. So you can create that memorable scene where he has the shredded arm, and then finds a perfectly new arm to replace the one the Sand people ran off with.

Logically it's cheaper for SS.

It only took about 24 hours for my wait list conversion. Wish I'd have that kind of luck with Arc trooper Echo.

The exclusive seems kind of half assed to me in all honesty. I like the idea of it but it should have the arm with the wiring and whatnot coming out. Not a huge deal but it would be better to have both pieces since they're doing the exclusive.

If you buy the regular you get two perfectly good arms and no complaints. ;)

I can't wait until this thing starts shipping so the complaints can focus on his lack of mass.

I think the figure is overall looking okay proportionately from what we've been shown. Probably my biggest complaints with it aside from the exclusive lacking the damaged arm are the wiring on the torso being sculpted rather than real wiring like on the Tamashii and to me the figure looks cheaper in quality which is understandable to an extent since it isn't diecast but it still just looks okay. Hopefully the final product turns out better.

The severed arm is visibly part of the "stump" scene - Luke picks it up and holds it as they talk.

With the HT Luke and Ben coming, Luke holding the arm next to Ben and 3PO might have been a decent display option, R2 in the background.

Maybe the shoulder bell comes off the removable arm, but it's doubtful, and wouldn't have the visible wires.

You thinking of ordering this one? I have the Tama but this one is still tempting. Those fingers! :love

No, not getting it. But I suspect it may look better than the Tama in hand, even if it won't feel better. I still maintain that the Tama's best attribute is its mass. It has just an alarming number of glaring (to me) inaccuracies and the articulation is a total and utter joke, including the arms. Frankly, I maintain it's the most overrated figure in my collection. It's more a statue than a figure, but I can't wait to weather it nonetheless.

Thankfully the articulation on the Tama doesn't bother me, I'm not sure the SS one will have all that much more. I think the Tama's best attributes are that it's clear that it's made of metal from across the room giving it a sense of realism, and the wires are very nice up close. It'll be fun to compare the two that's for sure. That last shot we saw from SDCC of sideshow's was pretty stunning.

I still rather enjoy the figure, it's mainly the "perfect model" marketing mumbo-jumbo and all the playing up of the "Star Wars scholar" angle of the designer that bothers me. I'm no Star Wars scholar and I'd never overlook the stuff they did if I was making something like this professionally, let alone ever call it "perfect."

Ha. Yeah, I read through that whole Tama thread after I got the figure and started collecting some of the best quotes along the way thinking I might post a thread recap. Something about the scholar definitely made the cut. Along with a couple "Any news on R2?" lines and a few other gems.
