Is this still looking good for release in a couple of weeks as my last flex pay is in 6 days or so they change your flex payment very last minute

Still on the fence about keeping my order for this or going with the Tamashii figure instead. Found a decent deal on the Tamashii but I sort of want to see how this comes out.

Scooch over, I'm in the same boat... Err... On the same fence. I'm still looking for a Tama under $300 shipped but also waiting for in hand pics and reviews of Sideshows.

If we were getting C-3PO on time we would be seeing guys in Hong Kong posting images of their new purchases. He's not in the asian shops yet so don't hold your breath.

It definitely happened during the port strike, can't recall if it happened before that or whether anyone got for example, Scout Trooper in HK before the US.

Didn't the Hoth figures show up overseas first?

If it happened with any regularity, we wouldn't have the long-standing issue with Sideshow that they never show their product before it ships.

Jeez, some of you guys have short-terms memory issues.

And before Pix offers a technicality, I'm not talking about a few ebay pics that pop up three days before the item ships to everyone (I'm usually one of the first to receive so its particularly of concern to me). If you don't order thru SS directly, then yes you have plenty of time to see in-hand pics from the guys on the board because you get your figures a month later than release. But with rare exception (I think Rorywan and someone else got Han Hoth early because they're in a gray zone) there has never been the deluge of photos as there is with HT figures from HK prior to us receiving the figure.

Yeah, all I'm saying it that it's happened, but it's not the norm and should definitely not be part of normal business. Sideshow should always be shipping their own product first if they can't coordinate simultaneous releases with their merchants.

I do wish that Sideshow would get out early samples to some reviewers. The way it is now does kind of seem like they don't want us to see anything and change our minds prior to shipping orders.

Reviewers definitely had the Hoth figures well before anyone else and Sideshow updated all the photos on the product pages to production pieces before shipping.

"Updated." Sorry, typo. Fixing now.. What a difference a single letter makes. :)

Oh, OK... I wondered about your comment, didn't seem like you. Clearly SS has a bad history about updating their own photos, this is part of the problem.

But I do believe in Hoth Han's case they seem to be proud of their work there and let pics fly.

Perhaps the indication is, if you don't see pictures, THEN there's a problem.

I can't honestly think of anyone else who updates photos at all, so SSC's "sometimes" is still better than "never." I thought I remember them saying they wanted to do it for all their figures.

Even putting up pictures on their own website is different though. Reviewers tend to be a bit more unbiased whereas of course Sideshow will stage things to make them look as good as possible.

Asmus does, so does Star Ace I believe. Most of the smaller companies do other than the monsters SS and HT. And at least HT has its "professional photos" that it posts early like those of Elljay and Plastic Enemies, etc.

SS has no one but us in-hand-and-too-late Freaks.
