Which is why I think it's a little on the silly side for SS to include it on this figure and its PF statue :cuckoo:

Well he's technically supposed to have it for a large portion of the film, goofs aside, you see it also in the Death Star, Yavin and even the ceremony scenes.

If you have to extensively search for scenes that depict the dent then it's probably not the most common look for the character, just my 2 cents. If the dent wasn't there I would have ordered one for my R2d2, but now I think I'm going to wait on Hot Toys to release one.

The dent makes me want this even more. It is specifically the ANH threepo headsculpt. The recess cut outs of the speakers on the sides, the three line cut out on the side of the helmet and the antenna is specific to the original Star Wars movie helmet (one of them). Sideshow did a nice job studying the original lid. Don't know if it was Vos/Zorg level studies but they did work on making this true to Star Wars ANH which I really appreciate.

SSC stuff is released early in HK? Never really payed much attention to that fact. Any of the HT bloggers post pics of the SSC stuff? Never noticed if they do.

Never. We usually get a terrible flash picture with severe warping for our first viewing.

Sideshow almost never promotes its finished product in advance. Example: they only just posted the new TIE pilot pictures today.

I can appreciate that. But for my taste, I'll wait for a non dented sculpt.

That would require Sideshow paying them. I can't imagine any of those high quality photographers work for free. Remember the bloggers we got in the states for the Hoth figures? Those photos were atrocious for the most part.
