LOL, thanks......!!!! I will probably be using BBTS a bit more. The way I look at it is this: If I have to pay SSC $10 for the extra box, and I earn on average $10 per figure, I am not really saving any money!

I haven't used them in a while, but I remember BBTS being universally cheaper than Sideshow, enough to cancel out the value of SSC reward points.

Just use them for the exclusives and nothing else if a damaged box is a deal breaker (and always use a coupon :lecture).
And then when you do order through SS you can have them make a note for a pack out on your account so that they always double box for the extra $10.

Does a pack-out increase the shipping quote too? I know it does to ship to Oz, it can double the cost of shipping (ie $30 --> $60)

Yeah, how does BBTS charge less for shipping than SSC? That one is kinda odd to me.......and for a SSC EX I really want, I will pay the $10 extra going forward.......! Thanks

I thought in the US it was an extra $10 no matter what but maybe you're right since everything is calculated these days. I like my boxes smashed.

Theories abound on this subject. Obviously some places (like those that offer free shipping after a certain $$ amount) are just eating the cost. Some places like BBTS likely have really good discounts but it's just really hard to believe that SS doesn't as well.

If there's anyone who understands the pain of a damaged box, it's a bunch of doll nerds

EXCUSE ME....THESE ARE DESIGNER ORIGINAL LIKENESS LIMITED STATUES.....

If thats too much to type , just abbreviate D.O.L.L.S.

Thank you for not poking fun at my Designer Original Likeness Limited Statues.....

I work for a company that ships a lot of stuff. Bulk shipping rates are very cheap. We ship large heavy boxes halfway across the country for $5-10, and overnight for like $30. Bbts seems to charge probably about what it costs them. I bought 2 sandies from them and it was $7.50 shipped in a pack out box for both. There is just no way ssc that ssc isn't gouging badly on shipping.

Lejuan I just hope I never get on your bad side :)

So when you see an SS Star Wars figure just add another $10 to their listed price to know what you're really paying. Makes C-3PO a $250 figure.

PLUS I'd just like to point out no January coupon. Coupons might be dead. Reward Points will be next.

So you're a statue collector huh? You should try collecting dolls, they're way more fun.

Yeah, the gifs I got in my heavy bag are intense, so watch out!

It might be back to BBTS and their pile of loot then for me then. The only reason I've been getting my SW from SS is for the cheaper single-item shipping and flex pay. A bit of discipline would save me a bit of money.

Then again, like everyone else here I'm done after Leia.

That's awesome Matt. You don't have to apologize. I understand your frustration. Just trying to keep it real. I would expect the same if I got emotional.

(Anyone catches me getting emotional: brick in the head, please and thank you.)

What about a really nice Lobot? :naughty

Except when they don't ;)

Sideshow failed to pack out two of my recent orders (I have a permanent note on my account) resulting in box damage. The next two were packed out but were so badly handled by FedEx that one came soaked through. I emailed SSC (for info only, wasn't asking them to do anything for me) and their response was:

"Going forward, I might suggest contacting a local wholesale retailer near you so that you wouldn’t have to cross your fingers on the condition of the box during shipping. We have wholesale dealers world-wide. This way, you may see the item before you even purchase it."

Basically, go buy your stuff elsewhere

I would think BBTS ships a hell of a lot more stuff that SS. Prolly a good 15 to 1.

That gets you a shipping discount.

So is everyone having issues with sideshow response for replacement arm/parts. Emailed twice and haven't obtained a response yet?!

Wow, so forget that option. I remember hearing that folks had that on their account and it seemed like a good option for people worried about the shape of the box. That's a little ridiculous that they can't do a decent job when they do the extra pack out.
