Re: SSC Commander Cody Deluxe

I don't think he will be more than Vader. Vader had lots of fabirc parts in addition to his armor. Plus he had a new body built especially for him. Cody will probably be able to re-use many already existing clone armor parts, so only his unique parts would be needed. And if the exclusive Emperor was any indication, additional heads only cost us $5.

I think he'll be close to $150 and definitely more than Vader. Two reasons. 1: He'll have three heads. ROTS Helmet, Commander Cody likeness and Clone Wars helmet. I think we'll see the adapter from Leia Boushh reused or something along those lines, if it isn't the Boushh adapter then something new was created which will give us a cost right there. 2: They'll price it higher because of production costs increasing, costs in China, the same ticket we've always gotten for the increases.

Also this will be the exception to the rule for commanders not the rule. How many commanders can they actually do this for? Gree looked completely different in the Clone Wars compared to ROTS, so does Faie. So really I wouldn't look for all over cost hike.

I think he'll be higher priced too, his unique armor bits are only good for him, the helmets, the arm and shoulder gear. There's no recycle value, but I'm glad we're getting an all in 1, odds are I'll just use the ROTS helmet but it's nice to have the option for the Clone Wars look included.

Not sure why the suggestion for an adapter like Boussh, I'm sure it'll just pop on the neck like the other Troopers. I'm not even really sure why would head the adapter, seeing how Troops are handled now (she was my first helmeted figure from Sideshow or Medicom besides Medi Vader which was different), I'm not sure why they didn't just sculpt a socket into the helmet head.

Not a suggestion just a prediction but then again popping the head on and off it probably more likely the route since even unmasked Cody's neck is still covered. Hopefully there isn't floppy neck or else the first time its popped it'll always be looking down...

Thankfully, Indy's the only figure I've encountered on the new bodies with neck issues, it usually comes down to arm and leg floppiness.

Oh, hell, yeah. :) I'd much rather drop $125 or more for an all-in-one Cody than to have to spend $90-100 a piece for two of them.

Re: SSC Commander Cody Deluxe

Well, if we're going to be paying a HotToys price for this piece, and if he's anywhere near $150+ we will be, the quality better be there to match.

So Cody will have peeling paint and crooked ears?

Damn, noticed you were banned. :lol

7 months since we heard about this figure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHERE ARE YOUS!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHhhhhhhhhhh!

damn, I thought there was actually new news on this figure:lol I guess we'll have to wait until the 41st Elite clone to come out first

All they showed off at SDCC was a head sculpt too. I think they pushed to let people know Cody would be coming as he was high priority for some people, plus knowing he was coming could help sales of the Utapau Trooper.

But that just puts in perspective just how far in advance they work on things. They had what looked like a completed headsculpt back in July, or even sooner depending on when the actual photo was taken. Sure it could have been the first part of him done, but still. I just don't think we understand just how far in advance something is started. Mattel has said in the past it takes them a full year from concept to production for a figure. But the looks of it, that might be a standard across the board for all toy companies. Well, expect HT. I don't know how they do it.

Sometimes Sideshow even has heads ready long before a figure even comes out.

The Gamorrean Guard was much more developed than Cody back at SDCC and we still haven't seen anything.

I think the lack of Cody is a combination of strategic release/unveiling of him and where he falls in the development process.

I think I remember SSC saying from concept to preorder could be 8-12 months for a figure. Depending on the figure.

The basic trooper armour is already there, I don't think that big an effort is needed to do add-on to the armour.

Especially when we were shown the head sculpt, 7 months has been a long time.

That's assuming they've been working on him since. People were clamoring for Clone commanders for quite some time, I wouldn't be surprised if the Cody portrait showing and announcement was just to throw people a little clue that they were being developed and to have something to show rather than just say it.
