Yeah, never had any quality issues at all - the major prob with this item was that the batteries leaked within weeks, and were VERY hard to remove. I removed the batteries after only a month and they were just starting to leak - disaster averted.

Unfortunately I didn't want the hassle of reinstalling batteries so have been without the cool sound and light effects.

Yeah, it's 3/8". I just bought some solid clear rod - I've been using clear plexi tube and it's not quite as good.

You can buy clear acrylic on ebay for just a few dollars. I got 5 rods that were ~2 feet each and the whole thing was less than 10 dollars. I have flying characters handled for a while.

Yeah same here. I gave away 4 of mine since they were so cheap.

I don't understand the following mentality:

heavy collectible = quality
light collectible = crap

It's not like we are talking about rocks or bricks.

The Probot might be light but the details and craftsmanship are simply fantastic. It is fairly accurate too, and this is thanks to a few RPF members working with SSC on this piece. It is an impressive collectible and one of the few that looks good outside a Star Wars display, you could have it in a modern work office and it won't look out of place, it will be just like a piece of modern technology or a model lunar robot or something.

yeah i dont care about weight. just like i dont care if there are functioning pockets on a figure lol. as long as it looks amazing im in. i broke down and couldnt pass on the $50 off either. hes gonna look sweet with my hoth set up :rock

I like these types of designs. I also like the Matrix Sentinel design. I'd like to pick the Hot Toys one up at some point.

Weight = durability = playability = toy.

I don't think of HT and Sideshow as "toys". They are posable statues or models.

I have toys. I have a ton of hasbro. I treat them very differently.

Placed my order today, looking forward to getting it to add to my Hoth shelf

Does it come with the snowy base ?

The rerelease that Sideshow is currently selling doesn't come with a snow base. :(

Yeah, weird omission. It really adds something too (those pieces sometimes don't add much to the display) I think because the PD is most iconic in the "rising out of the snow" scene and they did a pretty good job of matching the snow drift from that scene.

It also looks very much like snow - the Han Hoth and Luke Hoth stands' snow pieces aren't as convincing.

Then again the newer the manufacture date the less time the batteries had to corrode. That's the one positive of buying the newer version IMO. I do like the snow base though.

Mine corroded in 2-3 weeks. No joke - never seen anything like it.

And my understanding is that these are actually part of the original run, not newly manufactured. Not sure if that was for this item or one of the other re-releases though.

I understood it as they never made 2000 or whatever the run was, and these are now being made to make up the difference between the original ES and how many were actually made.
