I can post some pics tomorrow. I've never once had an ounce of buyer's regret with this thing, even with the hefty price tag. I've bought much cheaper figs and thought to myself, oh god why did I do this lol. But this looks great wherever you display it, from any angle. It's just a big ass, great looking droid. Can't beat it.

I don't think there is anything metal, aside from maybe the small pistons. They entire droid is very light and was surprising when I first got it. The legs/arms can be fragile if you're careless, but they all move and work great. I've never had an issue with the batteries on mine. They still work fine.

tempted by the $50 off...

But $200 still seems crazy high for this background piece. And I have no other Hoth figures to go with it. And no snow-base.

Do it. Buy a slightly longer than the included clear acrylic rod (depending on space), and it looks superb in any SW collection.

Nice pic with that subtle blue light! I still need to buy a clear rod for mine. And I agree with the others here, probe droid is great and easily worth the price with that coupon. I would have bought another but who needs 2? The original snow base is pretty neat but with a little work could make a nice one yourself.

Yeah, it was some model maker on the RPF that did it for Sideshow and they based it more on the full size Probot than the model. It's way more accurate than most of SSC's stuff.

I can't post any pics of mine because I'm doing a huge reshuffle of the collection and I've got figures stacked really close to each other to save space.

The top can be popped off on the lower body as well as on the head, allowing you to transform this from a $250 collectible to a $2500 one.

Detailed instructions:

1. First apply some additional weathering, including snow-colored effects and texture
2. Remove top "head"
3. Open compartment on head and remove the top of the lower body (pull it off, it won't break)
4. Fill the lower body with sand and replace its cover
5. Put head back on, fill it with sand and replace hatch

And there you go. This "weighting" is exactly what makes the difference between many $400 and $4000 pieces of audio equipment (in this cases metal plates, wire windings and heavy gauge steel cases are used instead of sand).

Like I said, personally I consider it one of the best Sideshow collectibles and it is in my top 20 collectibles I own. you can display it anywhere and not look out of place, in fact it would draw attention to its awesome details instantly - it is that kind of collectible. More accurate than the fragile 1/5 Attakus version, and much cheaper than a proper studio scale, though keeping accuracy closer to one.

You could also fill it with gold, it will become even heavier, and the value will raise to $14000 :yess:

Mine is due to arrive later this week.

Wor-Gar, the $50 discount made the difference for me, even though I would have preferred the snow base as well. But I figure I can come up with a custom base, if the black "sliced in half raquetball" base bothers me too much...

Finally, another option would be to fill it with Unobtainium, which would raise the value into the millions...

Wow, all this battery leak talk has me freaked out. I better check mine soon, though I don't think I've ever had the lights or sound on for more than a few seconds maybe 2-4 times...

Doesn't matter, in the long run all batteries turn to snot.

I used only the $30 off on Spook to get this, did not get free shipping, and still think it was worth it. Brings so much variety to the display.

And it was a much more important character to the story than Bossk, IG-88, and ALL the bounty hunters. It actually DID something.
