I haven't had a chance to buy new batteries, so I can't confirm whether it's a battery issue... But when I turn the light on mine, the light automatically turns off after a few minutes. It's pretty bright when on, so I'm thinking it may not be a battery issue. Anyone else experience this?

Never kept light on long enough on mine to experience this. If you are able to turn it on again, best guess is indeed an automatic battery saving system.

Automatic or timed lighting is kind of problematic for someone who wants to leave it on all the time, on display, maybe plugged into an outlet. Sure, it's a nice feature when it's out and used like a toy, but IMO, it's an ill-thought feature for a product of this type, at this price point and for this audience.

I finally got my Probe Droid today, its pretty amazing. The lights dont seem to work though. The tabs are all removed, there doesnt even seem to be a switch to turn the light on.

I'll quote myself from a few weeks ago:

The button for the lights is on the outside of the head, on the top side but not on the lid that comes off. Find the two rectangular red colored buttons on the top of the head (again, not on the lid part that comes off), then find the two round buttons just to the left of them. The on/off button is the upper round button.

Good luck!

You STILL haven't got one? Good god, man. Get thee to a toy dealer!

I had zero intention of getting the probe droid and now I'm on the fence - if it were $150 I'd grab it immediately. I think my shelf is sufficiently large enough to fit the Tauntaun, Han, Luke, 1 Snowtrooper, Chewbacca and this guy, so that's the allure right now.

Im thinking about getting this instead of r2-d2. The Probe Droid is going to cost about 270 $ instead of 170 $ for r2 but this thing is just so cool looking. Hoping it might drop in price though.

I would jump on these while they are available, guys. Aside from using a $20.00 coupon to bring the price down a bit, I don't think that there is much hope of seeing these discounted further. It's an excellent piece, unlikely to be redone at this level of quality for a long, long time. You won't regret it!

Anyone have a link or info to the clear rods for this? My buddy just surprised me with a probot for xmas!!
