A probe droid will fit anywhere a 1/6 human figure will if you shorten the support rod and don't extend the antennas (very much).

Was at Ikea today and the bottom and top shelf of the nornas is 14.5 inches. Middle shelf about 12.5 inches.

Dont have my Probe Droid handy cause we are already packning for the move, its listed as 17.5 inches on sideshows site. anyone know if that with the antennas extended? Or would I need to shorten the Rod by 3 inches?

FYI in regards to the batteries, mine has been boxed-up since I got it in September and all 4 were in good shape. Gave me an excuse to try out the lights and sound, though, and have to say they're both nice additions to this piece (especially like the amber light). Glad I finally screwed-up the courage to remove them, though. Would hate to open this up at some future point and find burst batteries.

Yikes! I decided to pull the trigger on one of these today, until I discovered that the prices on this figure have skyrocketed to $150-$200 above original cost just in the last month or two.

Was this piece really that limited that it's in such crazy demand now?

I believe it's just post sell out profiteering that will die down soon enough.

Don't think it was that limited, just a very good Probe Droid for not a lot of money, so people are probably keeping hold of it :)

I hear you, I've had my eye on this for a while and found out today that it's sold out everywhere. I've had a lot of things going in my personal life and I haven't been paying much attention to toys the last few months (I know, the horror!) Really disappointed I missed this.

I'm pretty new to 1/6 scale collecting, what do you think the secondary market prices will settle at on the probe droid? There aren't many sellers right now, and the few that are out there are priced right between ludicrous and ridiculous.

As I said before this is some kind of niche item. It is not Vader or Boba Fett, but not much less iconic for a true SW fan. And the alternatives are only a less accurate and more fragile 1:5 Attakus statue, custom made studio scale Probots that cost an arm and a leg (if you find any), and the "promised" EFX studio scale Probe Droid, which will be released the moment green skinned Martians will play chess with the Easter Bunny, and the real Santa Claus will dance naked on a table at Moulin Rouge. So go for it as soon as you find it. It is a great figure, made by SSC with the help of a talented RPF member (who also worked for the EFX TIE Fighter).

THIS !

There is one on Ebay for $469 I think. NOT MY Auction! I have been watching the price of this jump though. Glad I got mine when I did.
AT this rate it will hit $700-800 by Fall.

Yeah, there was the chorus of "not worth $250!" when this came out, but I lost out on the e-web because it "should" have cost less... then I turn around and it's all gone and heading up in price. So didn't risk it with Probe Droid, got it, and the droid's my way-preferred piece over the cannon anyway, so all good.

The E-web is cool, but nowhere near the Probot. Heck, the Probe Droid can even be displayed in a house without any other Star Wars item and still look great.

when i read this i m very happy i have finding one last week with very cool freaks help ( thank s darthblitzwing ) for 300$ , it s the last one.

I never understood how people could complain about the $250 price when the only other viable alternative was the rare, less accurate, and more fragile Attakus statue which went for way more on ebay. I was so excited when it was announced to be only $250. I do hope those that want it are able to find them for a reasonable price though.

I thought about waiting to buy this since my local dealer had 5 or 6 in stock After new year but Im glad I pulled the trigger since they are completely sold out now.

Has anyone gone about modding the droid for a remote or changing the batteries to a power cord. A small hole could be drilled in the base and wires could be fed down the metal pole to a power outlet.

I've done it, but I'm waiting for R2 before I sell an adapter to anyone else. There's a big caveat however. The on-board light and sound are not easily triggered by remote without a lot of extra parts - I don't think I can put something together to sell at what I consider a reasonable price, nor with what I consider drop-in installation, so I'm not planning to do it that way.

I'll have wiring to eliminate the batteries and the droid remains as functional as it is now, you press the buttons that are already there.

And, I'll have a replacement LED that's controlled by remote and a replacement sound module that's also triggered by remote.

So you can choose how you want to roll.
