Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

Well I'm hoping this time it's because they're about to reveal the actual figure. They might have held off before because they wanted to fine-tune things.

I hope it's not that they opened the box, saw the figure and decided to delay the announcement for a while.:gah:

Re: New Indy 1:6 from SS?

Ill be getting this. Must admit still not a good Ford likeness but wont complain about it. You can easily tell its Indiana Jones. Im hoping it has some cool items to display with.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

Im getting it because the sculpt looke better than the Hot Toys DX05. I love the hot toys one but that head sculpt looks awful and the pers doesn't help. I hope that sideshow doesn't screw this up with the paint and the price.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

If this is $200 plus forget it- better have a leather jacket too

It's gonna be $200+.

I will get it, but definitely wait for a coupon. I too hope it will be a full Indy set with jacket and lots of goodies.

Same here, also depends on what the ex is. Otherwise i'll just get it from another e-tailer.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

Yeah im hoping for the jacket too thats the most iconic part of indy besides the hat.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

Given the way their SW prices have been, $220 easy. I'll probably use rewards points on him.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

Yup, easily $220 ....probably slightly more.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

I think the cost of the Star Wars license went up because Disney planned to make a lot more movies, so the value of the Star Wars license increased.

With Indy, the previous movie did nothing, if only hurt the value of the license. Of course, that doesn't mean that Sideshow ISN'T going to charge $220 for Indy, just because they can. But I wouldn't assume that just because Star Wars took a huge jump, that Indy does too.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

I think enough time has passed licensees are comfortable with making Indy collectibles again. Sideshow seems to hold strong at keeping them coming.

I think there can be enough accessories with this figure to justify a $220 price tag, as ridiculous as it is for what figures cost.

The previous movie did nothing? Regardless of what you thought of the movie it made over $700 million worldwide.

That is definitely a possibility, but both the SW and Indy license are from LFL, so chances are they both went up. And you're right, too, that Sideshow may charge a higher price now just because they can. But I certainly hope that IF they're not paying more for the Indy license, they will keep the cost down just for the sake of keeping a good standing with the customers out there.

It made money but the Indy merchandise market was flooded with stuff that nobody wanted.

Re: SSC - Temple of Doom - Indiana Jones

Yep, and we ended up with an Indy section that no one visits :lol

Yeah, but $200 million of that went to HF individually (literally.):lol

Hmm... no movie in over six years, no prospect of new movies (yet,) no merchandise for years, SSC finally shows an image of something that looks *ok*, then re-shows the same image yet again, three top companies have tried and failed to capture HF...

I'm shocked nobody visits here.:lol

I know what you mean. Some of the attempts to capture Ford's likeness have been downright disturbing...
