yeah I always wanted that figure im going to upgrade it with some newer stuff. I would like to do a body swap maybe I know it`s rare but if you want to keep it for a long time I guess it need`s upgrading once in a while since I cant get the hot toys version. might as well make a combo of toys mccoy/ hot toys mix

I don't have the Hot Toys Indiana Jones and am not sure that I really like it, but Toys McCoy is great because it looks like the ultimate toy, like something you dreamed of having under your Christmas tree.

I was just musing over the Toys McCoy Indy, which I bought when it first came out. It seems to be forgotten because of the recent rash of Indy Figures, esp. by Hot Toys, Sideshow and Medicom. What I like about the Toys McCoy Indy is the base body, a Classic Collection G.I. Joe, which are durable, especially if you like to put the action in the figure, so to speak. The first generation Sideshow figures were like that too, but with these new boutique, realistic bodies, the hands plop off so easily and some of their boot-feet likewise are so limited in movement and easily plop off, so that even when trying to put the figure in certain poses for display, they fall apart!

yeah I know every one`s gaga over the new hot toys version you even have to repaint the sculpt to get it to look more like the person who played the character. I will upgrade the toys mccoy with some of the new clothing like restoring a classic car with newer parts

I think that Toys McCoy Indy was the first "dream figure" I really wanted to own, and that really piqued my interest about 1/6 collecting.

I was never able to actually buy one though.

Many choices....

Considering how important the jacket is, nobody seems to be able to make one right.

Well, Sovereign Studios made a perfect jacket, too bad he was a crook. It's surprising that no company was able to recreate what he did though.

The Hot toys one was cool but obviously the head was the problem but also think that the figure looked too bulky.

None of them are acceptable, IMO, although I used to own the Sideshow and Medicom versions and I have the Toys McCoy and HT figures. Hard thing to love a character and not have a respectable 1:6 figure of him in the collection.

Let's re-kindle the fire:

Grove's sculpt is the best shown there (despite the crap SS paint) :lightnin

The likeness may be the best, but the rest of the figure is garbage.

There is more to a figure than the sculpt.

The HT sculpt is iffy, but the rest crushes that group.

Though I think if SS TOD Indy comes out like the proto, yea I lol'd too, it will best the best looking Indy figure.

I hope the Temple of Doom Indy comes out well, I love that film. I wonder if they'll do a Club Obi Wan version using the same head?

Solo only had weird eyes, as far as I can tell, and that last Space Marine figure they made only had one weird eye, so, if they're improving, one thing at a time, ToD Indy should, hopefully, have no weird eyes. :lol
