Any chance HT revisits Indy (and perhaps his dad :pray) with their new improved head sculpt for a Last Crusade version? Doesn't sound like this one is getting soaring reviews...

I have to admit, the hat size doesn't actually look too terrible in this full body shot.... unfortunately that's about the only pic I've seen where it does look decent, so it was probably just a fluke of lighting or the exact angle it was taken from.

And in any case, it's still way too big for the smaller sized fedora Indy wore in TOD.

Harrison Ford's likeness is really a tough one to get, especially for each of his movie characters.
Even if you get em right on the prototype, how well it gets translated into mass production is the major challenge.
That sculpt is great with the details, paint and all but still a bit looking like David Duchovny or Tony Romo.

The problem with the hat is also how damned wide it is at the base compared to the width of the head... sigh... I will say that the molded coiled whip looks great... and the belt is not horrible... still scratching my head as to why they stitched the satchel strap though ?!?!?

I just don't get it!! The original photos looked great!! The face was great, there was gruff and the injury marks were well placed and not cheap looking, the hat was NORMAL sized and looked like actual felt rather than cheap, reflective plastic, the sword looked metal....he looked BADASS! What is is that makes them go from that to....THIS??? Production cost??? Anyone think there's any chance they'll listen to this feedback they're getting and change things??

No............

SS just seems to bite off way more than they can chew with their prototypes.

They just get everybody on the line with the preorders and make the figures accordingly to the numbers/estimates. That would be my guess. That's the exact reason this whole "preorder" thing has blown up so much these days.
We all knew we wouldn't get what we saw....

What we could do with is for VTS to produce a couple of bootleg 'Archaeologists' which would surely put Sideshow to shame. :lol

Im still surprised with all the 1/6 sculpts that are released, that non of them have done an indy to replace the HT , and now this one. Im sure they would have sold a ton! LOL

It is funny.

There seem to have been plenty of bootleg full figures based on Marvel and DC characters. But not many on Indy or Star Wars - as though they feared the wrath of George. There was that Force Toys Stormtrooper knock-off recently, but as far as Indy figures go I only remember the 'Adventurer' from many years ago.(I still have him, but both ankles broke off).

Now that Indy is under the Mouse maybe the fear is even greater. :lol

This Indy is reminding of what happened with SSC's Nathan Drake 1:6 figure.

I remember liking the prototype but was majorly disappointed once I got it in hand... which is a shame, because SSC did such a good job on their Premium Format statue of Drake.

Since I'm somewhat new to the 1:6 hobby and don't own an Indy figure yet in my collection, I'm reluctantly keeping my preorder (yeah, I know - I’m part of the problem).
