I agree. The issues with the Jango figure would not be applicable to Indy based on the costume. Hopefully, he won't have 2 left feet...

Now that HT has Indiana Jones TOD up for presale, what are the chances of HT releasing Short Round? I can't imagine TOD Indy without his sidekick. Or, do you think we'll have another Marty McFly without Doc situation? I'm relatively new to collecting these figures, so maybe longtime collectors have a better insight into the ways and mindsets of HT.
HT isn't releasing TOD Indy. Sideshow is.

Looks much bigger in hand than in the pics. It'll tower over a 1/6 figure and look quite cool I think. Box it came in was massive considering its just an L shaped backdrop .....threw out that weird Gi Joe robot it came with

Actually comparing them, the Hot Toys head sculp doesnt look like HF. At all. Like not even close. The sideshow one looks a lot more like him. Would people agree that is the best one?

That means it will start shipping in December 2015, unless there's a delay, which there almost always are. I would anticipate January at the earliest. Would also suggest waiting until the final product photos of this figure come out. Looks very impressive to me so far, but mass production could change that.
Well thats not good! This is supposed to be an xmas gift from my gf. Damn. And Im a vet of HT. Own many of them. This should probably end up being close enough to the promo pix. Very rarely is there drastic deal breaking changes.

I find that usually the sculpt is very close to promo, but it's the paint job that suffers in production. I (like so many others here) prefer the SSC headsculpt, so I went and bought an HT leather jacket to go with him. I love the HT diorama/outfits/posing options, but as the collection has grown, I don't have the space for the whole DX05 setup...
Sorry thats what I meant. I own many HT and sideshow figures.
The Hot Toys one featured a moving eye system but it ended up ruining the sculpt.
The mechanisms box warped the sculpt a little, making him fat faced ...and the eyes were too deep, giving him a weird sunken eye look with mascara.
This sculpt is way better.....good news it that Indy clothes are relatively cheap on ebay ...if you want a jacket or untorn shirt, just jump on ebay and grab them!
Their track record on human head sculpts of late has been a bit spotty since the Nathan Drake figure, just in terms of taking a step down from the prototype. Lots of people really did not like the Hoth figures that came out earlier this year (I have them and like them, but I'm not a fan of the eye system, the color of the face is too dark, and the paint is very simplistic compared to recent HT figures). Their most recent head sculpt in Jango Fett is pretty promising, though, so hopefully Indy will be fine.
Anyhow, that was the only reason I mentioned it might be worth waiting until it came out--that's what I'll be doing. All that said, it does look like a fantastic figure, and I may also start grabbing some of the HT clothes for other display options in case I do pick this figure up.
Well yeah, at this point Im waiting because it was going to be a christmas gift to me, but since I dont even know if it will be out by then, cant risk my gf ordering it, and end up not getting a christmas gift. That would suck. LOL
So yeah Im just going to wait right now. The figure doesnt seem to be uber popular, considering its almost out and still not sold out, so I can get it whenever.
