Perhaps, but leaving out the jacket actually helps differentiate it from previous Indy's and makes it more scene-specific.

Seriously?

There's not much to differentiate Indy between the films so I guess toymakers have to do what they can to justify multiple versions. So for ToD make it scene-specific by adding battle damage and losing the jacket. As mentioned earlier it's also a convenient way to cut costs.

Adding in a gun goes some small way towards boosting the accessories (albeit cheaply).

I picked up an extra HT Indy Jacket to use with the Sideshow one. Gonna make my Indy as inclusive as possible.

They were stupid not to PO a 1:6 Mola Ram with TOD Indy. It would have helped bolster sales. And where is that defunct mine cart environment they said was coming 7 years ago? :lol

Yeah, Sideshow has made a lot of comments over the years with regard to product that have never come to fruition. Problem is, we don't forget. :)

I agree it was probably a way to keep costs down, but it would have been nice to have a newly tailored jacket to go with all the other newly created pieces. Both Sideshow's and HT's jackets were lacking and it would have been a good opportunity to upgrade that as well.

And they are probably holding off on Mola and/or Shorty until they see how well Indy sells, which is ironic because Indy might sell better if we knew Mola and Shorty were coming! It's a vicious circle! They will definitely include something like the mine cart with one of them to sweeten the deal, just like they included the idol pedestal with Belloq, the Ark with Toht, and the fridge with old Indy. What they SHOULD have done, was have Indy and Shorty as a two-pack, and Mola with the mine cart. Personally for me, I don't know if I would spend $200 on Shorty. But if it was an Indy/Shorty set for maybe $300-$350, it would make getting Shorty much more attractive for me.

Well, they did charge significantly more for the pedestal, ark, etc. I'm sure we'll be paying a pretty penny for the mine cart if it ever does come out. So say it comes with Mola, and Mola is going to be $240 (just because). The mine cart has to be maybe an additional $160, considering the fridge was an additional $85. So probably $400 for the Mola Ram with exclusive Mine Cart.

If the mine cart is too risky to sell, I am already happy with a Chalice of Kali and/ or the money brain dish.

Just imagine how a Mola and Short Round could garnish our Indy display....

Well, yeah, with the leather jacket you got elsewhere -- that was my point. Not many people want this version of Indy (TOD) as their sole rep of the character. Not even you.

To each their own. I pre-ordered this before I was sure I could even get the jacket. For me, the hat and the whip are the defining aspects to the Indy silhouette... the leather jacket is a nice bonus. But I agree, most other people would want the more overall iconic look...

The hat, the whip, and the jacket are iconic Indy. If you don't want to display the jacket then leave it in the box. I prefer to display the Full Indy.

I think the days of pedestals and arks being included are long gone. They can't even include a jacket now for $230.

haha yeah

It wasn't that long ago we all discussed a theoretical future where a bare bones figure would break the $200 mark :D

And who would buy that? A mine cart? For $400. With all the other stuff coming out? Not even I would buy the mine cart for $400. And I've bought evrything else Indy so far except this and the German Disguise Indy and Pops Indy.

Exactly! That's probably why we won't see a mine cart.

Sideshow ought to just offer Mola Ram and forget the mine cart. Why offer an environment that requires two more figures to complete the display that we'll never see get made? Maybe Shorty, but not Willie.

Would they really bother with a highly detailed cart, though? They might throw in something really cheap like the table that came with R2, if they did the cart at all.
