I’ve always liked how the promo images looked - gaps aside - although they look better than the proto in most shots. I was waiting to see in hand shots and hear the collector’s thoughts/reviews. I’m almost ready to pull the trigger on this. I feel they did a small run of these and don’t wanna miss out. I was hoping to see what HT has to offer but I have a feeling that might not happen. Also the “what-if” on a possible promocode to use on this guy like all of SSC’s other SW 1/6 offerings - if he’s still available.
Hopefully see how I feel after this weekend and maybe save a big chunk of change. I’ve got a nice sized gift card the wifey got me for Christmas but was hoping to save that for QS Vader... Decisions! Meanwhile to genghis and icruise

Might be kind of cool to have a nice print of the floor with trap grate showing the rancor looking up through. Probably too gimmicky but the real thing is impossible, isn't it?

I think I may like the new Crumb better, the head sculpt and especially the eyes look better. The first one does do a better job with the thinner arms.

Now if only the new one wasn't made out of some of the thinnest material imaginable.

*the frog snack is also very brittle, be careful with it as well.

The new Salacious is superior to the original in every way. He sculpt is spot on the film prop, whereas I felt the original always looked a bit off. Glad that it’s poly stone to be honest, my salacious has developed that sticky, greasy feel a few years back, and I’ve never been able to get it off.
The pics of the whole set up look amazing. I preordered mine from Popcultcha early last year, so I’m getting excited to replace my original version.

BBTS website says this items qualifies for $4 flat rate shipping, but has it as shipping 1st quarter 2019. Question is, is the delay for $4 worth it or is it better to pay $54.00 for shipping through SS? Granted, $54.00 is to NC, so not sure what it would be anywhere else.

Yep, with a lot of soul searching (and figuring out a plan on how I can afford this damn thing) I finally pre-ordered back in November. It's just going to be majorly overwhelming with trying to ship the old Jabba & throne. Plus, I still need to sell my 1/4 scale Ninja Turtles set. Something I've been dreading.

Maybe he saw Leia in her slave outfit for the first time...

..oh yeah! And Jabba doesn't strike me as a "guy" that's into his own kind. He's got a fettish for humanoids..those legs just drive him nuts.

Granted, $54.00 is to NC, so not sure what it would be anywhere else.

I'm in SC..so thanks for letting me know how much it'll cost me. I say, **** it! Buy direct from Sideshow. Knowing BBTS..it might be April till they get their stock. Plus, it should be easier to get a Salacious replacement (if yours arrives broken) when ordering from SS.

I'm going to be taking photos after supper, but my first impression is WOW! I think you can argue that the old version is more accurate to the on-screen puppet's sculpt, but the new version is basically better in every other way. And the throne may actually be a bigger upgrade than Jabba is. The paint is so much better. Oh, and the eyes in particular are so much better that the previous version seems like a joke.

As for the white Jabba in my photo above, he is my life-sized 3d printed Jabba statue (his tail is a bit shorter than it actually should be to be life size, but the torso section is about perfectly sized IMO). I made a series of YouTube videos about how I made it, and the model I commissioned for the project is available for anyone to download for free on Thingiverse.

The eyes turned out great. Here's a close up, they're a nice deep rusty red.

These look incredible. The detail in the eyes on every Jabba I've had (sideshow, hasbro) has been disappointing. This is really making it difficult!

Thats the thing thou, thats NOT a scene. Its a still that was not in the film. I hazard a guess its actually the tongue part of the puppet just hanging out, in between takes....

Yeah looking at it more, the new is a better sculpt, especially the face. I still feel at least the head (or the ears) separately should have been cast in a more forgiving material. I'm terrified the non broken head I have is going to break too.

I have a feeling the other parts of the old Sideshow Jabba environment, like the Han in Carbonite wall, archway, the creature packs and of course the other 1/6 scale figures of Jabba's denizens are going to go up in price after this, since they work just fine with the new setup.

I'd like to see them revisit the Creature Packs instead of letting eBay scalpers take all the money. Now would be the perfect time for them to capitalize on doing a bunch of the throne room aliens.

I was loosely toying with the idea of Thanos... now I'm toying with the idea that the $376 for him could go to Jabba.

I could definitely dump some figures and other collectibles to fund this. Have both the ESB Han and Luke MR Blasters that are too similar so one usually stays boxed -- unfortunately it's the Luke one I prefer but it feels wrong to keep that over a Han blaster.

Space is an issue, but seems it would fit atop two detolfs. Will have to make some measurements. This thing looks incredible.
