I see that the two eyes wide open eyes have much wider pupil dilation than the other set of open, kind of sleepier eyes. Pretty cool detail.

I don't really understand why they decided to go the way they went with Salacious Crumb. He is made up of lots of pieces, but in reality all you can do is choose between two set poses, since the different legs and arm pieces aren't interchangeable (you have to use all of the "red" or all of the "yellow" pieces and can't really mix and match). It would have been better to just include two separate Crumbs (probably made out of a rubbery plastic like the old one), rather than a super fragile one with a million pieces.

The old throne was made of polystone right? Is the new setup made of a material you recognize. How much does the new Jabba on throne weigh do you suppose? I know some people don't care but if it's an $800 statue I don't want it to feel like something that cost fifty bucks at a toy store when you pick it up. Great pictures by the way!

The total box lists the weight at 38 lbs, which felt right. There is heft, compared to something like the Sideshow Han Carbonite which instantly felt lighter than I would have thought.

I'm not sure what resin was used. It's lighter than polystone, but does not feel light like an alumilite resin. The only thing that feels cheap is Salacious. He really should have been a plastic, if he simply tips over I could see his ears breaking. It's so fragile, I don't know how the got some of the pieces out of the mold with no breakage.

Ordered it.

Congratulations!

My turn...

That's pretty lame, I thought the whole point was you could mix and match. You can't use 'red' legs and 'yellow' arms?

Yes, it really is a bit of an over-engineered head scratcher. I can't think of any good reason to cast him in such a brittle material, especially with all of interchangeable components.

And yeah basically fixed poses (red or yellow) for the crumb figure.

I need to avoid the booze this weekend or this could happen to me.

I’ve been eyeing it for a while. Didn’t want to get it because of the costs in the long run with adding all the extra figures to it. But I thought, what the hell. I’ll just take it slow and order 1 at a time till I got what I need.

Jabba was a lot of fun when I bought him the first go around in the late 2000s

Much thanks to both you and icruise for the responses! I feel good about the material used now. A bit of a bummer about Salacious though.

I really dig the way this looks though and the more I think about this, I'm not sure this is something in Hot Toys wheelhouse. It's just too huge and even if they did make it I fear it would be made of some type of sketchy rubber.

Thanks again to both Genghis and icruise for posting pics and answering questions!

Sideshow could make a killing revisiting Bib Fortuna, a Gamorrean Guard, and then doing the band. An Oola would be great, as well.

Totally! Why couldn’t they just not worry about Jedi Luke (not a fan of that headsculpt), and focus on the aliens? Or at least have Skiff Lando ready to roll.
I really regret selling my Bib Fortuna a couple of years ago. Hopefully they do a V2.
I would LOOOVE the band and Guard too. C’mon SS! Your bounty hunters turned out pretty cool. Get on them aliens![emoji1]
Very much considering Jabba. I hope Oz retailers will still have him stock by June. This would make a great birthday present.

I agree, but please Sideshow I beg of you let Hot Toys handle Slave Leia...

Actually, I’d like to see Hot Toys team up with TBLeague to make Leia. HT can do the head, and TBL can make the body. But sadly, Howard’s too much of an arrogant *** to admit there’s somebody out there that can do something better than his own precious company.

No problem!

I do wonder what they could do to improve. Besides adding a light to the bowl, I don't see Hot Toys improving on the dais. It's pretty close to perfect in my mind.

If they did make a Jabba I could see them doing articulation in and around the arms, a rubber body would be a nightmare if it started to deteriorate. I am just not sure when/if they will make him. The cost of material and demand may not be high enough for them. Who knows though, I can never guess their release patterns!

The dais is a huge improvement over the original.

Salacious is actually pretty nice, but he really should have been cast in a PVC plastic like the original release, with such thin parts I expect a bunch of damaged ones arriving.
Thanks for the information. Just wondering what you mean by the dias being a huge improvement over the original. It just doesn't seem possible since the first one is so amazing. The only thing I can tell that's been improved is the platform underneath to raise it up a bit.

Would you say overall you prefer the original Slacious Crumb to the new one, or the new one (even with the material issues); like as far as the sculpt and paint apps? Just figuring out (before I get this one) if I should keep my original one instead of selling it with my Jabba 1.0.

I have never owned v1 so I feel better about not double dipping even if I still feel the price of this one is sky high. Jabba and his palace are just so iconic that I am going to have a hard time sitting this one out now knowing that it looks great and doesn't feel cheap. Congrats on picking this up!

Looks a lot more detailed here in icruise's shot...

You and me both. I haven't been this torn (and tempted) on a figure in a long, long time. But then I think of CA tax AND shipping.

Jeez, where are those $20 coupons when you need 'em? :lol

In a lot of ways I think the production pillows look better than the prototype, there's more weathering and they seem a little more muted. The leather hide looks more realistically weathered in that pic. It's thin and has a similar feel to the 1/6 jawa leather vest. I actually switched it out with the custom real leather hide scrap I made for my old jabba set. Regardless their new faux leather rug is much better than the old Sideshow one.

Oh and how could I almost forget, the fur animal hide is FANTASTIC!
