You basically brew a very strong/dark cup of tea and then while it's still hot dip items of clothing into it. Let them sit, give a few stirs and then pull them, rinse them off and let dry. The tea will add a bit of a brownis/distressed look to the clothing. It's the quickest way to start weathering an outfit. Usually a good idea to start with a short dip, like a minute or so, and then repeat if necessary as you can easily add color, but taking it away not so much.

I hope that's the case as well... it would be a hell of a thing if Sideshow could be consistent for once. But I have a feeling the next figure will have some wonky issue or they'll go back to the crap eye system when it's a key figure like Luke or the long awaited Dooku :lol

But for now at least we can enjoy this great looking figure and know that Sideshow is capable :lol

:goodpost:

Head sculpt looks great. Not many display options for that but if Hot Toys sells a 1/6 Slave 1 I might display him with it on in the cockpit!

Purple looks much more muted than in the brighter pics.

Whaaaa? Dooku has been announced? How'd I miss that?

This image bugs me cuz the clones in the back are phase 2, not phase 1.

There are different white clones?:dunno

But I guess the clones inside are the same, or do they do a V2.0 of the people as well?

Really enjoyed MicroJow's pics from late in the week there...Jango looks really good.

As my anticipation reaches fever pitch here, I had another look at another recent Sideshow figure featuring a portrait that had great results in production...

Fives looks really good too...in fact, that snarl is growing on me as I look at him on display. It gives him a distinctive look among the other clones without helmets.....and now with Jango, it looks like Sideshow is delivering some great quality on the portraits and the whole figure.

I agree with those that have commented that a "headgear-optional" portrait would've been nice to include, but...I do like the unique approach with this one....can't wait to see it in person.

Really looking forward to getting some snaps of Jango next weekend....and it would be great to see some new "in-hand" shots between now and then from some other folks.

I got mine on Friday but its been a busy weekend so have not had that much time to really play with him. Here are some phone camera shots so sorry about the quality...

Here are some components.. one of my blaster effects is quite bent:

Here is the second jetpack:

Head sculpt is good, not quite as good as Darth Malgus but still good

The neck join on mine is really wonky though and the radio headset piece that "keys in" falls out easily

Couple more:

My overall impression is that he is pretty cool. The jetpack that I have on him is a repainted Boba one but with removable missile that has slightly more raised fins.
His jump suit comes off more intense purple in photographs but it is definitely purple. It has weird cutouts where the armor goes and then there is some sort of black rubber undersuit that they insert into. I have had the shin and knee pieces fall off multiple times while posing the legs but they go back in super easy.

I really like his classy pistols and while I thought I would never use the blaster effects, I kind of like them. The smoke is definitely more cheesy and one of mine has such soft plastic on the nub that goes into the gun that it just flexes around and wont go in. I definitely like the jetpack thruster effects though.

The stand is cool in that it swaps out from standing to flying... much better flying stand than HT has done in the past. It is not clear but it has a waist pincher and a crotch cradle so he looks good and feels secure up there.

My biggest complaints about the figure are 1. They kept the super annoying clip attachment of the jetpacks that Boba had so it is not very securely on there. 2. The chest armor is slightly altered from Boba in panel layout but has all of the inherent issues his son had. 3. The poncho is sort of weak. It is a very thin material and pleated and sewn in such a way that it can only be worn exactly as it was shown and mine has some serious creases in it from how it was packaged so almost needs to be ironed (I might try and put it in a book to do the leaf press method rather than pulling out my wife's iron).

The helmet appears to be pretty much a repaint of Boba without the dent and without the raised detail on the side of where the range finder attaches, that being said it looks pretty awesome and has the fine details of the double arrows above the eye slit.

My biggest positives are that he looks cool in person, especially in flight. His streamlined blasters are very unique to his character and look good in lots of wild west showdown type poses. I think his boots are really cool looking too for some reason. The leather goods of the belt and holsters are well done and I think the brown natural leather looks good juxtaposed against all the sliver, purple, and blue.

Couple of things that might be on mine only are the neck join I showed above, the bent blaster effect and the wonky smoke connection stem.

I honestly am glad I got him but I feel that he is probably about $50 too much for what you get. He should be the same price Boba Fett was at most. Yes, he comes with lots of bits and bobs but I don't think I will ever use the un-helmeted portrait unless I bashed an out of armor version of him and that is not happening. Glad they have returned to form more or less with face sculpts and paint after a dire run but I don't get the neck join on mine, not very clean looking compared to other figures I have.
