So I just noticed that this figure is still up on Sideshow and I'm kind of thinking about picking it up. I only got into this hobby this year so there's still a TON of figures I know I need for my collection...but I always liked Jango and I doubt HT touches the prequels for a while. But I can't decide if I want this or not. I've read through this thread a bit and I've been reading good things and bad things...not helping me make up my mind though.

Anybody care to give some feedback to push me over the edge one way or another? Is this figure worth it?

There are, as you see in this thread, some quality problems with this figure and the retail price is probably too high. But he looks great though and I don't regret spending money on him. You might wanna look at eBay though, you can get him at a better price.

Only just picked this guy up. Got the exclusive really cheap and although it was annoying with all the armour falling off I think he looks great!

If you like the character and want a good representation of him in your collection, then yes, pick him up.

Not gong to sugar-coat it here...as others have advised, comb through the thread and read what the various issues have been with this figure. My quick advise, use care when handling it. Once you get him futzed and posed the way you want him, he makes an impressive display piece.

He's one of my favorite figures...

If you pick him up, be sure and post some pics!

I know that I am extremely happy with this figure in my collection. I display him with SS Proto and ESB Boba Fett and together they all look great.

It is hard to say whether or not the figure is worth the $220 price tag when comparing it with similarly priced Hot Toys. I was disappointed with how some of the parts weren't stable (knee and shin armor) and that the jet pack did not sit flush onto the back of the figure like the previous Fett SS figures. But again...for me it was worth it as it completed a good representation of the Bounty Hunter Fetts. It does display well and there is a lot about this that SS does well.

Handle with care, pose him up and he's great. And I wouldn't be too fast to say that a HT would necessarily blow this one out of the water. I didn't find the HT Fett enough to upgrade my SS ESB Fett. The big flaw it could improve on is a more accurate helmet (the one used is clearly a reused Boba Fett helmet). And the colour of the suit is easily changed via dye...that was another complaint was the overly purple hue of the undersuit. But I actually like it. A lot of contrast with the other pieces without clashing style or colour wise.

I hope it helps. And another thing...if you are new to this collecting thing I would heavily suggest looking at the new Sideshow ROTJ Darth Vader over the HT one. Obviously make your choice...but don't overlook SS this one. Alt of collectors assume HT = better...but I think the NEW Vader from SS had some things going for it (undersuit, stature, proportions) that the HT does not.

ALSO!!!!
Be careful with the flight pose stand...really digs into the figures suit material to get it posed. Not a good design AT ALL.

Hi guys, are there 360 degree shots of his unmasked head sculpt posted anywhere? I would really love to try some photogrammetry to generate a 3d model of his head, to use as a base to crete a 3d artwork of Jango's head. If not, would anyone be willing to take some for me? Photogrammetry requires photographs taken from every angle, including the top and bottom. So not just front, left, back and right, but a variety of angles in between. The process usually uses (i think) about 40 pics to generate a good model. The sculpt is fairly accurate, but is from a figure. So although it looks great for it's size, when blown up it will probably be lacking in detail, and any inacuracies in the face shape will be amplified. Still, this will make an amazing base to start my model on.

If anyone is up for it, could you perhaps put them into a zip file and upload it somewhere, or send it as an attachment in either PM or a post? I know this is a big ask, but I would REALLY appreciate your help and the 5 minutes it would take to grab the pics.

Nice project,I don't own the exclusive head so I wanted to know if you are willing to sell some? Interested in how it turns out
Good luck

Well this gives me extra motivation to try onto it haha. Still need the turnarounds first, or to find one at a collector market with a seller who's cool with me telling the pics. It'll be designed with the figuarts figure in mind tho

Oh. So it won't be 1/6 scale?

Well I could make it so, I guess, once it's 3d printed. But this was more or less a personal project for 3d sculpting practice, but I could design it as a headsculpt for a figure, instead of just a sculpture

In 6" scale it would be printed with a digitally coloured face, just like the shf figs. This way instead of paint trying to replicate the actors features, the actual features are directly overlaid onto the face sculpt.

Idk if its just me, and don't get me wrong it's a nice figure....but something just seems...off. I have no idea what . Maybe it's the helmet proportions, the somewhat bloated looking body, or the way too dark colour scheme, but on their own these things don't look off.
