I can't really say I'm surprised at the price on this set, but I think if it had been knocked down to an even $200 it would feel like a better value. Might get them eventually but I'll wait a while. Also I'm confused on the exclusive. Is it really just that they're sold at Sideshow exclusively?

Maybe my old Hasbro ones are still ok.

Neither of the Yoda's (the other shorties released so far) came with a stand. Due to the height you can't really use one... but some kind of sand base would have been a welcome addition.

A sand base, even without the waist-grabber would have been very cool.

I have a couple of spare Sandtrooper bases currently being used by my Hasbro Jawas that would work.

Thanks for the updates Alex, but that seems rather weird. I mean, there's not that much sculpting involved in these...they're mostly just giant robes with glowing eyes. I find it odd that the stands aren't just automatically included...maybe I'm being ignorant to the process, but I can't see how much two small stands would add to costs -- especially with these already priced fairly high. And for them to make it "well over" $220 if included? How much are we paying for stands with other figures? :lol

I mean, are they supposed to just lean against the back of a display case?

And none of that is directed at you Alex. I know it's not your call...or is it?

The bodies and the cut and sew elements (robes, bandoliers, etc.) are really the most expensive parts for this set. It may just seem like a simple robe but there are inner robes and outer cloaks with hoods that are adjustable which equals something that really isn't simple in nature when creating it. Then you factor in the bandoliers that go across their chests and another with a pistol holder and there's even more cut and sew elements to the set.

Adding stands would have added more dollars to the final SRP for sure. If folks are baulking at $220, I'm going to guess higher then that with stands would have any more baulking? Just a guess though. :)

Just sharing some tidbits with you and all here. Not trying to convince people either way (i.e.: Buy or don't buy) but just passing along some info. :)

And no, not my call to make of stand vs no stand, ha! I love that gif...always cracks me up when I see it, ha!

Appreciate the tidbits Alex! Even if we don't always agree with pricing, or an item, I'm sure everyone can agree that we're happy you show up from time to time to pass along information to us!

And yes, it's always a hilarious gif to see for sure! :) Almost as good as a song about a baby monkey riding a pig backwards!! :lol

Lack of stands does sort of stink. Especially considering you can get a lot of the Hot Toys Star Wars figures for around the same price that are fully sculpted normal size figures and all have a diorama stand (nothing too complex but nevertheless they have them). I actually think throwing in a sand base or something for these two and keeping the price the same would have made this set more appealing. Granted I don't have access to how much everything costs but it does seem odd that a stand would add some crazy amount to the price.

I dont get how they could do droid 2 packs at $130, and these are $220...? Seems like a far more involved proccess to engineer the droids...

F-it. Ordered em. I think I've decided to limit my 1/6 to ANH.....I say that now and will probably buy the AT-AT drive when he comes out. Oh my poor wallet

Thanks for the info, Alex. Must be tedious indeed to read some of these comments but you always have a great attitude. :duff

Personally I can't see stands being included or not being the deciding factor for anyone in regards to whether to purchase this set. Easy enough to make a nice, large sand base that'd be big enough for these guys and a droid or two for probably $10. I'll wait for a coupon and definitely pick them up for $200. That's more than fair, IMO.

I'm not mad about lack of stands, just hope they are very stable figures. Sam and Frodo came with stands, figured it would be a no brainer for these guys too, or at least some kind of sandy environment like Yoda who had his log base. Still holding out hope the material is changed in production to something a bit thinner. Saw these at Celebration and the martial is too thick. Assuming a future coupon shows up, $200 for these is not outrageous, but there is room for improvement.

I'm OK with the lack stands considering their height. If I want a sand base I'll just make one myself with real sand and glue. I would however have liked some additional props like tools and/or tatooine junk.

Price is a fail so is the robe material. Their heads should be bigger and thinner robes.

Yeah the smallish heads are what bugs me most about this. And the eyes are too close together as well.

Although I guess it shouldn't really be too hard to fix those issues once in hand, given the simplicity of the outfits.

Initial development was likely more... but once it's done they can just mass produce them a lot easier. Here we have two new (or at least altered) bodies, different robes, different bandoliers, etc. And it's unlikely they will release any future Jawas so the cost of the development is not as spread out as you got with the battle droids.

The battle droids by and large have been a really great deal for collectors.

Too bad the stands with Sam and Frodo only worked if you hooked them under their armpits, and even then they tended to hover just a bit :lol But you needed something with those two since the legs were really loose.

True, future use is probably zero, so by todays standards price is "reasonable".

Yeah, as long these have a stable base it should be fine. Good luck getting a Hobbit to stand on it own :lol
