Cant wait to buy the accessories to these guys on eBay (if they are the correct scale). Not buying the figures....not that they are terrible. I think they are a very affordable and good looking Jawa set. I'm just going to stick with making custom Jawa's.

Something really bothers me about the taller one.....
Can't quite place it.....
Yeah, I feel the same way. For me, it's the way the hood looks on the taller one..not a fan of it. I'd just like to switch out the weapon and give it to the cooler shorter looking one. Or perhaps (although I really doubt it), the hoods will be interchangeable.

The hoods are interchangeable. I'm hoping to snag an extra loose one once they're parted out. I'm also hoping that with some futzing, the hood on the taller Jawa can look somewhat decent.

The hoods are actually identical according to the instructions - the way they look is entirely up to the way they're placed on the figure - it's up to the futz.

You're right. I read the instructions wrong. Thought there was a straight hood and a curved hood but they just tell you to start with either the straight or curved side. That's great, now we can make them look however we choose.

It is cool that their eyes light up but what do you do when they are turned off? I guess they will just have black faces most of the time in a display. Would have preferred two heads (one painted and one with lights).

Also I guess you have to take the hood off every time you want to light them up. This is one of those times a remote would have been appreciated.

I don't mind electronics in a figure, but they need to be done right. The idea of undressing and reposing a figure every time I turn it on/off makes it useless to me. Depending on what they look like unlit, this could be a deal breaker for me.

I don't think you're going to have to "undress them" to use the light feature. It's likely that one can turn the switch on/off right through the hood.

Looking forward to these guys!

Yeah, I would've preferred a reflective material instead of lights, or some sort of switch-out arrangement to allow both. Lights out takes away a lot of the personality for me.

I do sort of wonder how they're going to look when the light up eyes aren't on. With their hoods and the color of their faces they're just going to look kind of empty it seems like. I'm still happy i ordered them though.

Yeah, it's an important question re: the lights/eyes. The Tama 3PO looks like 3PO without the eye lights on but the SSC 3PO really needs to have the eyes lit up otherwise he looks "dead" (though the SSC 3PO is way easier to turn the lights on.) I do worry about how you'd display these Jawas with lights off.

I really hope that someday 1/6 makers come up with some kind of standard where you could just hit a remote and all of your light-up figures could switch on. It's the flipping of all the switches (on figures where you don't want to mess with the pose or knock over the figs in front) that is the huge hassle. The batteries are a pain too, but the on/off thing often kills it.

I love the look of IG-88's lights on, but he's posed just right and you have to grab his head and push it down to turn them on/off, and ANH Luke you have to reach up the sleeve and then repose him. So - needless to say - Ig and Luke remain dark.

At least with 3PO he's not wearing something that covers his face and his color is bright and reflective. It looks better with the eyes on but still decent when they're off. The Jawas though may be a different story I think.

That will never happen for so many reasons it's not worth getting into. ;) But, not one to wait on the impossibility of stars aligning, I do it myself and that's exactly how all my displays and figures operate - actually from a a master wall switch, but in-lining one of the remotes I offer with sabers would take only a minute to install.

I wish more figures would have the option to be wired with an AC adapter or something. I know it wouldn't always be ideal to have wiring coming off your figures but it'd be nice if there was a way to make light up features work that didn't rely on having to use batteries. Maybe they could use a base for a stand that would be able to power the light up features somehow or something. That's why as much as I like light up functions I almost never use them. I will give Sideshow credit with their 3PO and R2 that its nice to be able to just leave the switches turned to on and tap them when you want to use the lights.

Excellent point. Glad you pointed that out. I love the light-up eyes, but not when I have to go through this much trouble of turning them on/off.

I can get batteries pretty cheap....wonder how long they would last if on all the time......

There are loads of ways to solve the power source issue, but before that point, there need to be a bunch of deign considerations for how to route the electrical connections on the figure itself. That's the most tricky part, IMO because it can quickly take a base body from generic to custom, which isn't good for the bottom line.

You can run wiring/connections outside the body and under the clothing more easily for some figures and that would be a way around making custom considerations for the plastics, but it can't work for everything.

At the far end of the problem spectrum is a figure like HT's various Iron Man iterations. Some of those have many separate battery compartments even though the bodies and parts may only be for that one figure. That's a complicated one to solve because with lights on the extremities, you'd need multi-conductor couplings for all the joints if you want to be able to take it apart - at the very least wires would have to pass through the joints. Glad I don't collect Iron Man. :)

Ok frugal shoppers, did everyone catch the $200 Yoda that went up today? :) Maybe two Jawas for $220 isn't so bad.
