You got that right. I wouldn't dare leave a figure set up without a stand around here.

Thanks! And I may take you up on that offer. I could always drop a few stands off with you for photos too. :duff

Are you getting the Jawas?

I go back and forth... I have a Medicom and customized Hasbro that are good enough. It's really the floppy bodies that have me worried; I was very annoyed by the hobbits 1) because they fell over if you looked at them and 2) the included stand was too tall for them so I had to do some weird finagling where the waist grabber was underneath their armpits and hidden by cloaks :lol

I get tired of Sideshow having endless QC issues and dumb decisions (like Jango's fall-apart-armor) to want to keep throwing hundreds of dollars at them for disappointing figures :lol

hmm, well you would know best for your plates. If you can offer plates pre-drilled with no holes, I'm in for those :) easy peezy

definitely consider the variant plate with the rock for luke to stand on, maybe it could be a separate rock you can place where you'd like? Or an option for one molded into the plate. That's cash money!

Which scene are you thinking of with Luke standing on a rock, JC? Was it right before the Raider attacked?

I take it that's a no on the Jawas then. :lol

It's unusual for me to use a stand with a figure. Only in a case where the base body or shoes are very problematic and I can't or won't replace them.

If a figure can't stand on its own, in multiple different stances/poses, for an indefinite amount of time, it's a defective design, IMO.

I'm right there with ya. I really did want and intend on getting the Jawas, but the floppy bodies thing really made me change my mind.

Sideshow is at a real crossroads here. The technology and engineering to make the best figures is available to them, as we see from Hot Toys and plenty of other manufacturers like QMX, Star Ace and 3A. But they continue to have manufacturing prolems, like bad paint apps, the whole seperate eye system they tried with the Hoth figures, and floppy bodies. They are charging more than ever, and more than their better quality competitors, but somehow fumble the ball in different ways. It’s not even like before where you can count on band paint apps and that was maybe it. Occasionally you’d get a bad body here and there. But now their QC problems are all over the place.

Overall, the Jawas look good. Really good. But it really bothers me that Sideshow continues to let these QC issues go and think, “good enough”. Especially since they are directly competing with the best in the business for the same line of characters. I mean, how can you not pass on a Sideshow pilot Luke when there is at least an inkling of a possibility that HT will get to their own version?

I dunno. Maybe I’ll cave if I see them at a good price. This seems like the kind of figure HT would never get to and this might be the only “high end” (I use the term loosely) Jawas we ever see. But right now it’s a pass.

At the very least I might wait around and see if I can score them for a better price. I'd like to have them and after Celebration was pretty sure I'd bite, but the price is a bit high (IMO) and the floppy body is a concern. We'll see though, I finally broke on buying an X-Wing Luke, but I got him for under $200 :lol

I'm right there with you... how can it only be Sideshow that is consistently dropping the ball like this. When I can get an unlicensed figure that is of better quality than the licensed figure from a "top company" something is wrong. It's either they have no control over their production line, or just approach it as "good enough" and move on. Selling a figure to a customer that can't hold a pose or looks like it was painted by an elephant with a paint brush in it's snout should never happen... yet time and time again it does :lol

Well said Mad Old Lu and galactiboy. I totally agree with what you said about SSC. Their pacification regarding CPO's hands really didn't sit well with me.
I was on the fence about the Jawas too, but aside from the accessories there really isn't anything to them.

so maybe it wasn't a rock, but a rock would do.

I just had a few minutes to check and see if these fit on my stand's crotch grabbers and they do. :yess: This is right out of the box with very little hood futzing. The legs are loose enough that it'd be a pain to try and get those discs to hold them up. Fortunately the arms aren't in the same shape. It's a shame about the legs. I still think the fun factor will be high on these.

Better review later when I have time to look them over proper.

AWESOME
:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

but I don't do individual stands. Detolf plates, chop chop ;) haha

Yes, sir! Right away, SIR! :lol

Received my set a day early to my surprise...

As others have said early in the thread the body is quite loose, I did find at least with my set the larger Jawa has the worst joints of the two. I would say though, the hands which constantly pop out are even more of a headache.

As for the pro's - the bandoliers are quite impressive. So good they look more like custom work. All the accesories are nice too.

I did a bit of futzing with the short one and snapped a quick shot with my phone while the sun is still up. I found the robe takes well to the water treatment, and dries pretty fast. I also dressed it with a fat suit I had lying around from toyanxiety. It added the right amount of bulk to the midsection and made him look a little more stunted.

Other than the floppy bodies, they are pretty good. Guess I'll need stands for these. I'm not sure who thought those stupid round discs would work.

Nice pics Coco.

Just opened mine up, box is thin and kinda bare inside. :lol

Figure looks nice. The outfits hang well and look decently weathered. Water treatment will drape them better. Floppy is a bit of exaggeration, but the bodies aren't firm. Accessories are nice. Will prolly ditch the vest for the large one. Lights look good. Wish they were touch activated like the droids instead of a switch though.
