That's the mega-nerd alert.:lecture:lol

This was always one of my favourite Kenner figures, so I'm really looking forward to eventually picking one up. I just have to erase the fact that Beckett was wearing the disguise in "Solo", like it was just lying around in Lando's cloak room on the Falcon. I much prefer my head-canon version that it was acquired more nefariously in ROTJ.:)
Oh, and I love that parts of the weapon was made from a hair dryer! Gotta hand it to the props guys from these films.

That was an especially strange fan service moment. Like Lando has a closet with a "Disguise" sign on it - and you'd think by the time of ROTJ Lando would have figured out that word might have spread that this outfit is a red flag.:lol

I wonder if this will pre-order when the bulk of the Jabbas start shipping? Naturally I'm very interested now that I have gone in on Jabba. I wonder if they have any other palace creeps in their plans? Hoping they will do an updated Bib and Gamorrean Guard but not exactly counting on it.

Yeah, there was a time when Sideshow really cranked out the creature character releases. It's been a lot of years since then - seems like they just don't do the amount of 1/6 they used to, and the other issue is they will all be in the $250+ range.

The question becomes - once you've paid your $850-900 for Jabba, will you then shell out $250 for Bib and $250 for Gammy? Nearly $1500 for a Jabba/throne and two supporting figures is kinda scary if you really think about it.:lol

To be honest, I think they'd be crazy to do a new Bib Fortuna - he just doesn't have much wow/cool as a standalone figure for those who don't have Jabba, especially if this new Jabba is in the low numbers people seem to think. I'd LOVE a new Bib Fortuna, and would be one of the ones who'd pay $250, but I realy think he'd be a pretty low wattage figure sales-wise, even if he'd be pretty easy for Sideshow to do and no-brainer to go with the new Jabba.

Gamorrean has way more wow/cool factor and would sell to people who didn't have Jabba but my guess is he would be $270 because of all the unique tooling/body - and that commitment (new unique body, huge amount of sculpting) might stop Sideshow from doing it. I believe that original fig might be too old for a V.2 version using the same molds, but it was a somewhat underwhelming figure anyway (wonky proportions, little articulation, so-so sculpt, just-okay outfit) and even with much-improved paint would look a bit wonky.

If Bib was part of the Jabba display for $800 I think more people would have jumped onboard.

Still, thinking about the size -- Jabba is huge -- $350 for Jabba, $350 for throne and $95 for Salacious Crumb seem to be about right. Not crazy priced. It's just the combination that gets you to $800 which is a crazy price for a toy display.

:goodpost:I agree with you on all points and yeah I would also pay $250 for Bib and the Guards.

Right now I am debating whether or not old Bib is a good enough figure to display next to the new Jabba? I recently watched a couple pretty ancient reviews on YouTube, still undecided but I'm leaning towards hoping for a V2.

I'm all in on Jabba now so I guess that means waiting and hoping for more palace goons. Jabba does seem to be pretty well received so far. If he sells well enough maybe Sideshow will continue the theme. Besides Bib and the Guards i suppose there is still a chance for Slave Leia and/or Boussh Leia. Off the top of my head anything else seems to be a real reach, am I missing any other characters who would even have a shot?

The old Bib can look good. He needs a body swap, at least a minor repaint and a heavy water treatment. The sculpt is surprisingly good and a body swap does wonders.
The robe is by far the worst problem with him. A water treatment can get it far, but I’d still buy a new version just for that.

Your Bib looks fantastic!!! I think I'm going to try my hand at customizing mine.

Nice job! Makes me want to get mine out and do some customizing. I never did care for that robe either. I wonder how many people would be interested in a custom robe if I got one made.

I think everybody who has a Bib would be interested. The actual robe was made of velvet, so a thin velvet would look wonderful as it’s heavy.
Only thing is... will SSC reissue Bib? I’m afraid they won’t as a 250$ Bib Fortuna likely wouldn’t sell to anyone who didn’t buy Jabba.

I tend to agree with you, but perhaps they will sell enough Jabbas to make it worth their time. If more palace goons do get made, I expect it will be over a long period of time so will have to be patient.

In the meantime you have made Bib look pretty good there, I'll stay on the lookout for a cheap one that I can subject to my rudimentary customizing skills;)

I don't remember if I ever posted this here before, but just thought I'd post a quick pic I snapped at sdcc last yearView attachment 441197

Good picture. He looks very good... tailoring and boots and all. Very nice! I don’t think that I’d ever display him without the helmet so I’m not worried about the sculpt. Just hope I don’t have to pay for a second head...

I think we all can probably agree on that. Would be cool to see this and the HT Bespin version of Lando go up for order sometime soon.
