Not sure what's going on with shipping, but I find it very difficult to believe SSC is attempting to "claw back" cash b/c they priced R2 too low. The theories in this hobby are so ridulous. :lol

Deminsional weight can suck sometimes.

I have shipped bike frames that weigh 5-6lbs 10lbs in a box and it will cost $100 because the box is so big.

Well if that's the case. Sideshow should rethink their box layout. There's a lot of dead space in there.

Yeah, I'm sure it's unheard of.
If companies could just charge an extra bit on top of what the actual shipping charges are, without any consequence, they'd be fools not to all be doing it. I'm sure SSC literally has to account for shipping to someone. Honestly, it's amazing some of the people coming up with this stuff are able to hold jobs and make enough to be in the hobby in the first place. :lol

Nice assumption.

Not according to the people in the aluminum foil hats. It's a conspiracy with sideshow, North Korea, and the movie company that faked the moon landing. They are out to get us by purchasing over priced science fiction toys.

It's $15 to ship within the US. It's $10 to ship Vader within the US. The shipping and handling charge is definitely influenced by the price of the item and it's seen on other figures as well - it has been for a long time. The $15 might be totally fair and they're willing to take a small hit on more expensive items, I won't hypothesize how they determine the difference from one figure to the next, but the pricing on this figure is not due to dimensional weight calculation (Vader's box is larger and heavier).

It would be so much cheaper if they just shipped it without a box. Damn sideshow trying to rip us again.

That's not really my point. If Vader can be laid out in a large box with all those accessories including a large light up base and still be shipped for less money, maybe the R2 box isn't the best design. My initial point about clawing back money was sarcasm, but I guess that was lost on the superior intellect of some of the posters on this board.

Sarcasm doesn't translate well in written form. People reading a sarcastic comment can't see facial expressions or hear the tone of voice & inflections of the words used.

I don't have time to grant every Tom **** and Harry permission to sarcasm, so by all means, sarcasm as you will when you will.

Thanks

I was thinking more along the lines of a long, embarrassingly personal questionnaire they could fill out and mail to a remote location where it would be summarily ignored, and then wait quietly and patiently for a response.
