Robot looks good. Looking forward to the pair up with the tamashii 3po.

Here is a picture of the Tama with the Hasbro R2. So we can get an idea of scale.

Sideshow will look amazing with the Tamashii. I currently have mine with the the Hasbro too.

I'm glad they didn't release the droids together and that R2 has come first - it gives me a chance to work out whether R2 will match the Tama 3PO fine or whether I'll need to be picking up Sideshow's.

Yeah looking at the pics again I'm really not liking the way that looks. Instead of the third leg extending up into the body the way it should, they just have it attached to a flat piece at the bottom like some cheap little action figure. :(

er, what? The leg isn't a switch-out part, it's retractable.

Really? Where in the box do you see this attachable third leg?

I used the Hasbro R2 as the common scale and did a rough comp of this compared to the Taito.

In hand, the Taito actually has quite a number of fairly noticeable inaccuracies (dome especially,) and if its feet were correctly proportioned, it would actually be a little too large. So the SSC, while a small touch underscaled (all over, not just height,) is actually looking pretty great.

It's retractable. It's not just stuck on there. To confirm, there is no third leg in the clam shell packaging. That's because it is inside the figure.

Edit: sorry others have already answered this for you I see.

So 5 - 7 weeks....I guess he is stuck on the docks somewhere...anyone else get other figure notices this long out?

It's in the specs too: ...with rolling treads and a retractable third leg enabling tripedal travel.

It's not a matter of whether it retracts or not, it's what it looks like after it's retracted. Instead of being seen to extend up into the body like it should, it looks like something that is simply attached to the bottom as a separate piece (even if it really isn't).

I suppose it's not the most important thing ever, but it's a cool little detail that I've always loved about the physical prop, and I'm really bummed not to see it on the SSC version.

Although looking at the pics again, I suppose it's possible the guy taking these pics simply pulled the leg out a lot farther than it should have been, in which case.... never mind. :p

That is a great video. I had not seen that before. $150 is a great value for this guy.
