I used the Hasbro R2 as the common scale and did a rough comp of this compared to the Taito.

In hand, the Taito actually has quite a number of fairly noticeable inaccuracies (dome especially,) and if its feet were correctly proportioned, it would actually be a little too large. So the SSC, while a small touch underscaled (all over, not just height,) is actually looking pretty great.

I did my own comparison with another picture from the Taito thread and I think you are a bit generous to the Sideshow R2 there. Dammit, I had started to hope that there wasn't that big a difference again. :(

I'm holding out for HT Hot Angels cyborg super sexy ****s out R2. :lecture

It'll be a double pack with Hot Angels C-3PO.

Also available with chair, as with the HT Robocop:

Chairs are for sissy robots, so for Threepio it's a match made in heaven.

The two Hasbro R2's in the pics were at slightly different angles. If that's how the SSC R2 turns out size wise I'll be okay with it, but it is a bit too small.

As I said in the HT Vader thread, it's becoming clear these size issues are LFL mandated. Three Vaders from two companies - all noticeably too tall. Three R2's from three companies - all noticeably too small.

Even four or five companies, but all completely different sizes. Even if some sizing guidance is being given by LFL, the results are all over the place so we're still left with a huge question mark. Have they given completely different numbers over the past few years or have they given one number and the designers/manufacturers flubbed it time and again? We'll probably never know, but it's going to be interesting to see if there are any material changes to the way R2 is portrayed in the new film(s).

Want the answer, companies build each figure as a individual figure and aren't nearly as **** retentive over every little single detail like people here are. None of the figures are in "scale". They are all too tall or too short.

Does Leia light up too?

The table has a central hole where you fit the Leia holo or a filler plug - inside that hole is an LED which lights up the holo. It's a nice feature, I just wish the whole thing wasn't so out of scale. The hologram, the table and those silver things on the table. The table is what I consider the #1 accessory in that package because it goes a long way to displaying additional figures to mimic the scene in Ben's hut.
