Sideshow 1/6 R2-D2

Mine is coming this Friday. After this then 3PO I just about finished with the OT figures. Another thing I could see Hot Toys adding to their figures is the added bonus of letting them actual make sounds from the movie.

My 2.5 daughter was given the medi version last night. My SS version will be here Thursday. Very tempted to pick up another to put away for her til she is older. The more I think about it 150 is really a steal for this guy.

Here's my Medicom and Sideshow R2 comparisson in height and both with the Yoda (sideshow) figure.

Now,it seems that there was a "SEAM" too on the MEDICOM R2!!

A friend of mine that works on plastic injection told me that this was unavoidable if the dome have some components inside like the electronics/lights and the other in-cased parts. The dome's mold will be constructed in 4-piece/parts,so there will likely to have a seam visible on the injected piece.

Nevertheless, this is the best R2 figure to date and whether Hot Toys will do one...well, will never know yet. So I'm glad I got this one.

Nice pic.... I think this looks amazing!!! The Medi looks terrible next to SS's version. And a bargain by today's pricing standards. So happy I ordered the exclusive. I'll have mine Thursday. Can't wait for his pal 3PO now... I think they'll look awesome together and I prefer the weathered looks to a clean look. Spent way more dirty time in the movies than clean. I almost broke down and got the Tamishii 3PO a few times when he was aggressively priced, but glad I held out and patience prevailed!!

Yeah, wasn't the medi R2 and 3PO like $200 a peice? I'm not a 100% sure. It's been a while but I know buying both of them together was pretty expensive.
