Who's missing in this pic....?? R2 D2..., where are you!!??? :impatient:

AMAZING photo, F.D.! Despite having this figure myself, it still took me a second glance to realize this wasn't actually a snapshot of Anthony Daniels in the suit. I take it you're still waiting for your Artoo to arrive?

I think it's a little too toyish looking out of the box and the weathering too uniformed. Ideally this should have been all glossed up before been weathered to give it more of a metal look underneat. I glossed up the blue panels to make it look a little more realistic

Nice! The gloss really does make the color pop a lot more.

Yet one more thing I'll need to do with my R2 whenever I get around to modding it. :)

Here's some daytime shots of last night's weathering. I'm really happy with how the oil paints and turpenoid grabbed onto the old weathering on the dome and punched it up a notch. I will need to let it dry a bit longer before I can add another layer. The dome is actually still workable and it might be a day or two before it's dry.

Looking really good so far...the added weathering on the dome appears to give it some much needed depth. Did you strip any of the factory weathering prior to adding yours?

I was just messing around. I'm actually jealous of your work. It looks great. No offense intended. Just having a bit of fun.

That's a game changer right there. Looks great kamandi.

No that was for tampering with a pic that i took the time and effort to upload. I wouldn't do that to anyones pic,it aint cool, and certainly not fun!

You're entitled to your own preferences and opinions of course, but for me, I just assume that anything I upload to a random group of nerds on an Internet forum will be fair game for lampooning and tomfoolery at any given moment. Doesn't bother me, personally.

As a third party here, I didn't feel like the original image was in any way abused, inappropriately used and certainly not disparaged in any way. What Jedi Jim did was the equivalent of quoting a block of text out of a longer original post. IMO, that's absolutely fair game and sometimes preferable to quoting an entire image back in a reply (which IMO, is bad form/board etiquette). The image he posted is clearly a screen shot taken on his phone while viewing the original photo. It would have been nice maybe to post it at a lower resolution since the screen shot causes the original content to be blown-up. ;)

I hope everyone can move on from this and that when it, or something like it, happens in the future, it's seen for what it is and no one gets into name calling. Earthdog most certainly didn't deserve that, especially since all he did was quote the previous post and add a brand new image of Oprah. And yeah, I can see how Yoda's lady-eyes bear some resemblance to her. ;)

Looks miles better. :rock

He did. He was one of the first people to use alcohol, maybe the first to do it lightly with a sponge. Saved that original image and as of right now, this is the template for what I'd like to do to mine. :)
