Got on the waitlist Sunday and it already converted. Can't wait to put it with my hot toys luke!

Got my R2, very happy with it!
Have just been messing around a bit, so a quick question: the life-form scanner and auxiliary imaging system don't stay up firmly, do they? At least mine don't. Otherwise, everything seems to be working perfectly fine.

They are supposed to stay up with friction if you pull them up hard enough. One of my scanners stays up great but the other (the smaller one) will not really stay up no matter how hard I pull. Its no big deal though because I don't want it up. Good luck!

I should have known it was medicom... what was I thinking? I guess I just never expected anyone would want to display and/or photograph the Tam with the med.

The moment this picture was taken, the Sideshow R2 was still a long way off. I still don't have it, because Europe is WAYYYYY behind. I am getting it though

Cool, thanks!

I noticed my R2's batteries have already died. I really hadn't used it that much and would turn it off when I wasn't using it, yet the batteries have died within two weeks. I'm wondering if leaving the switch on under the dome (even if lights are off) pulls a small amount of charge. Not sure why they'd die so quickly with such light usage (and my lights didn't even work well to start with, so I used them rarely.)

I don't think they furnish these things with the best quality batteries. I wonder how my lights are doing a couple weeks on...

I'll be getting my R2 in a week...
Besides some other tweaks, I'm going to add LED lights to the periscope with their own separate hidden switch and battery.
I'm also going to rebuild the extending arm that supports the periscope, adding more length; in the Dagobah scene, you can see the periscope is fully out of the water while R2 is still completely submerged, so the rod should be longer. You can see two parallel vertical metallic rods which fit into the main tube below them. I'll run the wire down through the tube to the battery. (There's even supposed to be a wire here, as seen in the film)
I won't be displaying the utility arms very often, but it will be cool to raise and light up the periscope once in a while.

So my Fedex bill arrived this morning for R2.

$70 dollars. That's on top of $40 shipping. The whole thing cost me $260.
Sideshow need to fix their international sales system if they want people to keep ordering from them outside US.

I'm out. That's half of the cost of the figure on top of shipping.
I'm an *****. I've learnt my lesson and I am now cancelling all my Sideshow orders. Hong Kong only from here on in.

You need to move to the states, brah.

Well, you know, I was happy to support SS by ordering directly from them, but not any more.
If they don't care about international sales then I won't either.

Hilarious that they are trying to stop Hong Kong 3rd party sales, while at the same time are doing nothing to promote their direct service. I would love to know how Fedex come up with these figures. They seem completely inconsistent.

Anyway.. end of rant...:lol
