:lol I like how Sideshow's video for this makes it seem like a breeze and runs only about two minutes where most people are claiming it's taking longer to assemble.

I laughed about that too, everybody here claiming upwards of an hour or more. Video guy slaps it together as if he is assembling a Lego mini figure.

Has anyone considered figuring out a clear acrylic replacement for the black support rod a la the probe droid?

you really think i should call ss and get a replacement for the steering vane? i never even considered that. wasn't sure it was something they would replace for that. hmm. i'll try to call them tomorrow and see what they say

NOT the vane, you'd need a replacement for the whole forward assembly since the "hole" is on that, not the vane.

More pics!

WOAH! Love this pose, too. I might give this one a go.

Glad to see people generally having good success with this.

If you're reading through this thread and are having second thoughts due to difficulties with assembly or anything like that, stop worrying. Buy the bike, it's a great piece.

My terrain sensor is messed up. One of the little curvy pieces was broken off (could probably glue it and fix it with no one knowing). The bigger issue with it is one hole is larger than the other so I have one fin whose pin is entirely too loose and won't stay put. I'll be calling Sideshow on that piece to ask for a replacement part.

Beautiful shots, rubio. I'll be following your assembly recommendations with this bike this weekend.

In the meantime, just enjoying the comments and pics folks are posting on this cool piece. ..keep "Em coming. ..

I want to get this. It looks great in the pics posted. My concern is the assembly. I also like to rotate my pieces due to limited display space, so if the assembly is this much of a nightmare, imagine trying to disassemble this thing? :horror Price is a concern, but I can use RPs to knock that in half. This may have been answered, but anyone try disassembling this yet? Ex trooper is on its way! :yess:

Disassembly shouldn't be difficult. I had to tear it down in order to have better access to the bike for the later steps, but at the same time, I wouldn't recommend tearing it down frequently. I think that, like ikea products, parts will fit back in looser and looser lol!

Truth is, once you assemble the bike, you won't want to tear it down.

Michael Crawford was correct in his review - these two (scout and bike) are incomplete without each other.

Thanks for the feedback Rubio. Now if only the ex would go back to in stock. Don't want to go on the WL since RPs can't be used. I'll wait another day or two. :impatient:

Sadly im sending mine back. Sideshow confirmed the drooping front assembly is as intended and my OCD is just not okay with that. Plus the overall build quality is just not worth $300 to me. Another $50 ill get a diecast AOU Iron Man bu HT.

Well, putting 50c of cheap pot metal into a figurer just screams quality. ROFLMAO!

I do think the assembly video is really helpful.
I fixed mine without realizing the existence of this video. Took me slightly more than an hour, I thought I rather be slow and cautious to make sure I got every step correct than to regret breaking anything. :lol

Got my first scout today. The other one and the bike will be here Monday. I'm quite impressed by him, don't see a need for a body swap either.

Well guys and gals, I forgot to cancel the bike. When it showed up on my doorstep I had every intention of just selling it. However, I caved and opened it. I must say it's an awesome piece.

The trooper and bike together cost about $500 - is it worth that? No, it's not. It's a fantastic set, don't get me wrong, but looking at it I just can't justify the money spent. It looks worth maybe $300, trooper and all. I'm not sure if I'll keep the bike, or sell it, but for now it and the trooper look great on top of my IKEA dresser. :D

Ex. Bike back in stock. Patience paid off. :yess: $162 shipped after applying RPs. Hurts a little to use that many RPs on an item that should be a about $200 maybe. But pics do show it's worth it. Now to wait.
