Nothing wrong with the rubberish armor, it'll be painted better than this SS statue's for sure.

And if you like statues so much..and you're complaining about the looseness of the much more accurate figure, which is the same scale..couldn't you just uhm..glue it to your liking?

I could care less, being accurate or made better are two different things. I liked the Neca pred when l first got him, then l got annoyed. l move him and he gets super loose, the stupid cheap netting rips, the soft rubber sucked, l don't like that figure anymore. l would much rather have this statue. There is a reason the Neca pred only cost $80.:lecture That pred figure just gave me more of a reason and confirmation of why statues are better.:lecture

Fair enough. I was backing the NECA Predator up though as it always seems to get mentioned in any Predator releated thread for some reason. I'd rather only mention it in it's own thread but as it's being mentioned in a statue thread I'm stating that it is more accurate.:lecture :D

If l glued it there would still be joints shown, the bad rubber armour and of course it would still be plastic. This is a statue and will match my other stuff even if it is a little undersized. I doubt the Neca paint apps on the armor will be better, who knows, only one way to find out.

There's just no point in comparing figures and statues...regardless of scale.

They're two VERY different mediums, targeted at very different types of collectors.

man dont waste your time explaining to the toys r us kids why a polystone hand painted statue is better collector item than a plastic figure in a see through box.

just not worth it.

Again...one is no "better" than the other.

It's all subjective to the collector.

If you like statues...great...but that doesn't mean your collection of statues is "better" than someone's else's collection of figures.

Claiming either is a better collectible than the other, just shows a narrow-mindedness common to both types of collectors...but proves absolutely nothing.

And I can speak from both sides of the coin...more so than most.

Completely invalid post. Sabres nailed it:

I gotta agree with this statement. The neca 18" has been irritating for me to pose after initially posing him when I got him. The ankles are already pretty loose and makes him very hard to stand. As much as people would like to believe "He blends right in with all my statues"....I am sorry he does not. I would make rather own this piece over the neca...again this is my opinion and others may think differently of it.

For accuracy, the Neca Pred is the best you can get. Quality and durability....not so much.

I'd just like to comment on how god damn stupid this Human is, this one right here.

Here's the thing. Whether you like statues better than figures, it is a fact that NECA's 18 inch Predator figure is far more accurate than this Sideshow statue. So..I don't get all this "You can't really compare them" stuff.
I just compared them..for the people who want the more accurate Predator, NECA's is that.

Yup you are right...Neca wins accuracy hands down for there 18" pred. WE UNDERSTAND your absolute hatred for anything that is not 100% screen accurate.

Excuse me? Where do you see hatred for anything not 100% accurate?

My hatred is for SS's BS QC, and FAR from accurate products, in some cases. This statue actually looks pretty good minus the Bio..but I fear the QC because lately everything has been going horribly wrong with that.

Not once did I mention ANYTHING about not accepting anything that isn't 100% accurate. I just want quality for the prices I'm paying, and I hate people who bash NECA's 18 incher for no friggin reason, when it is actually an incredible collectible that we should all be happy we recieved..

I'll be shocked if I'm the only one who is interested in accuracy, who is interested in having the 300$ + statues/figures he buys look as much like the actual creature as possible.

My god..

I agree, it is 100% accurate and an amazing piece in its own right but it does have many problems also. I am getting from other threads...specifically the LSB Predator that you were going crazy over the head sculpt. I donno.....harping about 100% screen accuracy over and over gets old for me to read.

yea, they really should have included a base for these, they really need them.

I agree, really the ankles are the only thing giving me a hard time on the figure. I may try to craft something for it to help hold him up better as I have him in a leaning pose at the moment and he looks a little awkward.

I agree.

And l have a question. This pred statue must be smaller then the Neca ped 1/5. This statue is suposed to be 20inches 1/5, but this pred is sitting high on the base, so l would think the actual predator on this peice would have to be only 4 or so inches taller then a 1/6 figure.

yes he is slightly on the smaller side, should be around 22" including base. But i think sideshow doesnt want this to come close to the 24" PF scale as the wolf lsf is coming and want to keep this line at 20"

just waiting for the ES announcement now...
