Sideshow acquires DC License!

You're just as tired of hearing Bowen bashing as we are of Bowen cheerleaders shaking their pompoms in Sideshow threads. Why would you bring up Bowen in a thread about Sideshow then if you didn't want bashing? You can't make a DC Bowen thread? Or is it that you feel some false sense of entitlement?

I agree with you. I'm a member at SM as well and they do quite a bit of BD is way better than SSC crap. I dislike that just as much. BD can't touch some of the pieces SSC has released. Spidey com, Punisher com, Iron Man com, Mystique com, etc... These are the best staues of those characters ever made IMHO.

When someone posts that BD hasn't produced a good statue in 5 years, that's just plain BS. Maestro, modern Nova, Modok, Wendigo, classic Cap and Thor, Planet Hulk, etc... These are just a few pieces that are great sculpts.

Hating on any company just seems petty, and full of sour grapes. I can't take the opinion of someone who says BD doesn't make any good statues. Conversely, I feel the same way when BD fans say SSC doesn't make good merch. Both of these types of people are talking out their asses.

For the record, I wasn't the one who brought up BD in this thread. Someone else did. I just responded to the usual hate that comes up as soon as BD is mentioned in a thread. Would it really kill any of you if BD did aquire a DC license? If you don't like them, you can just pass on anything they make. For those of us that do like them, we can get a few more statues added to our collection. Is that really a problem for SSC collectors?

As for my so called "entitlement"....I would like to feel that I'm entitled to add any great statue, from any company I choose, to my collection. I don't think that is asking too much.

I happen to think Bowen's upcoming Hulk is THE first time (Sideshow's classic PF excluded) that anybody has every nailed the Hulk. I'm not gonna go shaking the pompoms in a Sideshow Hulk thread though, because I know the reaction it'd get and would expect it. That's all I'm saying.

I understand. I just never got riled up by someone liking a statue or company more or less than another. I can respect a persons opinion without agreeing with him. I only have a hard time respecting the opinion of a collector who says ALL of a companies merch sucks and hasn't been good in years.

The fact that you have admitted you like BD's upcoming Hulk tells me you have an open mind to their statues. There are people here who would NEVER say that even if they thought it. Well, I'm done with the topic. It's just going around in circles whenever this issue comes up. Collect what you like has always been my motto.

So, back on point people. Do you think we'll see a DC comiquette any time soon? I really hope so. I do so love me some fully sculpted pieces. I hope SSC gets their heads out their asses and makes the com's all 1/4 scale as well. Keep it all uniform SS. I hope this line has the same scale for both PF's and Com's. I'm gonna cry when SS starts doing comic based 12 inch DC characters. It would mean I would have to start over. But it better be good and none of that oversized head and different 1/6 sizes. BTW, Nam mentioned that they're doing a new body for the Joes. Can anybody provide a picture? I want to see the potential future body for the 1/6 figures.

I did and that isn't even stopping me. Hell the MSRP on them was so outrageous that you could find them easily half price on eBay. The last four I bought I got for about 60% off of their sticker price and that was before SSC's even hinting at this license. They look fantastic together but I'll have no problem swapping them out for the SSC versions. My son will need action figures to play with anyway.

My son won't be able to safely play with them for another 6 years but that isn't stopping my justification.
