The light up eyes look badass. It's easy to look past the lack of detail on the mouth because that's what, like 1.5% of the statue? Big whoop. The rest looks outstanding.

With the light up eyes, I wonder how heavy the head is going to be?

And I'm going to have to politely disagree with your last statement. I hope that what little there is of the face is great, but in the event that it isn't, imo it could sour what is potentially a great piece.

I have the previous Batfleck in my collection and in the dozens of pieces I have he's one of my few regrets. And that's just because of the badly executed face, which also didn't take up much more real estate than this Armored version.

worth getting but i may get the Prime 1 instead...

..... me too.... maybe. All depends on my feelings when I get Sideshow's version in hand.

Thanks for posting.

I was hoping that that pics posted earlier were an anomaly, but from Sideshows own video, the face imo looks like it lacks very much needed detail.

And from the video does anyone think that the lips are too pink? I don't think the contrast between the lips and the face work. Hopefully it's only overused lighting, like a flash on a camera.

To those discontent with the face/likeness... had this been derived from a comic with no likeness it would still be a great Batman piece and surely would be in ones Bat collection. While I respect those who desire an accurate cinematic version, Dont short change yourself because it doesnt hit he Affleck mark.

Is anyone else disappointed that you have to take off the head to turn the light on? I would have preferred a mains plug so it can stay on for extended periods.

Also whilst I agree the face is a small part of it, it's also a very important part as the eye is led to faces to judge emotion and intent, it's hard not to see Ben Affleck with pink lipstick imo

Did you mean hard to see, or hard not to see?

In regards to your first query, yes I'm disappointed with the battery and switch being in the head. It's like Sideshow's 1/4 C-3PO, and just like 3PO, I'll probably never use it after testing to see it work. With how my collection is set up, if it is not powered and controlled via ac power it might as well not even be there.

But it seems like Sideshow is going down this route of non ac powered pieces. Just look at their half scale Mark 43 with its button cell batteries and switches for each individual light!

And unfortunately all my Iron Studios pieces with light up function are the same.

Heck even Prime 1's recent half scales are powered via 2x C type batteries for the spotlight type lights on their bases.

Looks like alot of companies are going down this route.:thud: :gah: :dunno :cuckoo:

As mentioned before, the mouth looks kinda cheap, and the face alltogether seems to miss some details....or some shading of sorts.
Also the LED eyes seem subpar. I kinda get the blueish eyes....but they seem really weak. This could do well with a 3 led system for each eye. One piercing bright White LED on the center and 2 blues on the side for that blue aura effect bleeding from the corners of the eyes. At the price these things cost, it wouldn't be so unfair to get some more complex LED usage.

I think it's right on schedule. I believe the regular suit Batfleck was supposed to be for a May/June release as well.

I wish the original Batfleck piece didn't get released early; as if I had got the 1/2 scale from Prime 1 first I would never have gotten the Sideshow version, as the above armored version would 'probably' have been sufficient for my 1/4 scale collection, and of course it would've saved me some money as well.

Where do you buy your stuff from? Only asking cause you are from Sydney.

Popcultcha.

As it's always been cheaper for me to go through them over Sideshow direct, for statues anyway... well except for one piece, but I was flipping a coin on that one because I was concerned I would get hit with custom duties and GST on that one.

Only felt the need to get one exclusive through Sideshow in the past three years. But it did cost me more then it would have been to get the regular through Popcultcha.

You are doing the same as me. If i need the EX i go through Sideshow otherwise i will go through Popcultcha. I hope my Darkseid next year sneaks through customs unnoticed.

Yeah, but unfortunately even when I want the Exclusive, I still may need to go through Popcultcha. As the price difference could be way too much sometimes. I estimated (even though its not up for preorder on Popcultcha yet) that the Prime 1 1/3 Arkham Origins Joker could be as much as $500 AUD more then Popcultcha once GST and delivery is accounted for.

Heck I just checked and for this Armored Batman statue, not including any reward discounts etc, it would cost $210 AUD ($155 USD) more to get the exclusive through Sideshow. And given I always get an additional 10% off from Popcultcha, the savings are probably greater.

Yeah, I may have said the same thing several times much to the annoyance of our fellow members :lol it's true though: imagine having it released ON TIME instead of 6 months earlier to make sure that the face would be painted much better. It told me that Sideshow doesn't care and made me raise my eyebrows when I saw their website video of the team that makes sure their products "matches the prototype as closely as possible". The regular suit PF proved that Sideshow says "okay now get them Stateside asap" without checking when their factory in China says "hey, guess what, we have finished all 1750 units of Batfleck way ahead of our deadline!". Had so much potential, as the sculpt and paint on the suit and the fabric used for the cape are very good. I don't even buy the statement which says it now has "FEW STOCKS REMAINING" on their website :lol

But then again, being released on time OR EVEN LATER doesn't guarantee a good final product, I guess.

Like most people here I think it's a shame SSC overlooked the paint of the mouth area. I could have gotten over the lack of details but those pink Barbie lips are aweful.

However, the rest of the statue looks great and I love that the cape actually attaches like the real deal. Kudos to Sideshow for that. At more than $500 I think I'll pass, though. My tiny Iron Studio 1/10 armored Batfleck will have to do.

Am tempted to postpone my last payment for a month while I decide whether to cancel. However I used over $100 reward points on it so very undecided, looking forward to seeing more pics
